Re: Underbody clean up - 2021 recommendations

I`ve used thinners or acetone: wrap rags/ kitchen roll around item, soak in thinners, cover in foil to stop evaporation, leave to `brew`. It will soften wrinkle and peel off more easily. Depends where you`re working though, on a down facing surgface that would be difficult! Nitromors will probably d...

Re: Confusion over wiring for starter motor

Basically the diode is a one-way valve: current can flow straight to the coil AND the solenoid when you operate the starter, but the diode stops it flowing BACK from the ballast/coil junction INTO the solenoid during normal running. Without the diode, both solenoid and coil are in parallel during no...

Re: Brake shoes / drums size

Having said that, I would imagine as long as the shoes and drums are the same size, 8 or 9, they would fit OK? Unless I`ve massively overlooked something?

Re: Brake shoes / drums size

They should be 8", the 9s being for 2.0 - BUT it really would be a good idea to check before you buy?

a steady down hill decline and now a gender confused side show hanging with a pack of publicity dependant whores .....what next .......pregnant , black , run for president .......all 3 ? Yuk ! I can`t argue with any of that: the decathlete, yes, a REAL achievment, everything else is just the celebr...

I`ll assume everyone knows the album sleeve this refers to. Re: Lucky Escape!

To be fair, we don`t have much choice re. buying from China, this is a result of decades of poor managemernt, poor political decisions and ultimately globalisation that have left us with no indigenous industry to speak of. Even covid test kits and birthday cards are made in China: really we`re left ...

I meant to write "when the wind", by the way, not "when the when". Ah yes, it`s a bit like one of those `captcha` robot filters, a human can get the meaning even from incomplete information. Because of this I`ve had `there was an old man...` going round in my head all night - so...

It is, or was, indeed. Of course it`s changed hands loads of times since then, I think currently it`s Akzo Nobel?
Edit: there are 11 Fiat 132s still on the road in the UK. Nuff said!

Re: Straightening my bendy

You could do with some 1/3" square bar so you can put a piece either side and crush it back into shape in a vice, preferably or a mole wrench, possibly?

Resurrecting this cos a couple of weeks ago there was a `crossing the central barrier` incident leaving a car meet at Barton and now this. The thing is, the bad one in Trafford Park where people died, it stopped for a while but then it restarted again. It`s so loud you can hear it at Stretford Nick,...

Thanks Peter, that explains it. It just makes the rear quarters look really bloated. Not for me either

Re: Modified Capri

I`d rather have the Cortina TBH. It`s really well executed, but to me it just loses all the elegance and beauty of the basic Capri shape. Very clever though. Can`t work out if they`ve made the rear quarter bigger or shrunk the rear windows?

My ancient tin is, I think, branded `waxoyl underseal`. Think at thast time it was made by a company called Finnigans? It`s the only one which doesn`t seem to dry out and crack. It`s kept the Fiat(s) alive!
