Re: 73 MK1 Capri V4 engine Code numbers
I am looking for a spare engine for my 73 ford capri and I was wondering if anyone new the correct code numbers found on the block casting to make sure I get a similar engine. I believe some Transit vans come out with V4S in New Zealand but they were of lower compression and used different heads et...

Re: Valve Seat Recession questions
Suspiciously cheap I thought it was going to be at least twice that.

Re: Nicest Granada I've ever seen
Really nice the fronts of Sierras and Mk3 Granadas are their best angle I think. That one looks particularly mean.andyd wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 10:27 am Very nice car for the price https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1704058
Sadly 6/7 years until tax exempt so by then the yearly cost could be really expensive.

Re: Valve Seat Recession questions
(I am saving to get unleaded valve seats fitted but for now I'm making do). Out of interest Tom, what kind of price range is that? £40 for the seats themselves, £74 for the machining and about £50 for doing the guides if they need doing.. plus VAT. Cheaper than I thought it was going to be tbh!

Valve Seat Recession questions
..my car is having trouble starting (again). It does not like turning over, as if the ignition timing is out and it's kicking back. The timing isn't out, the distributor weights aren't sticking. It is suffering from VSR a little though and needs regapping now (I am saving to get unleaded valve seats...

Ok couldn't find the Aid Edmundson documentary on PIFs, but this Charlie Brooker episode is nearly as good, he talks about the history of PIFs and why fearmongering works on us:

Re: Weirdest Cortina I've ever seen!
It needs to go in a Museum or converted back to standard and the bits displayed in a museum. I am sure it has been for sale for a long time, why would you buy it? For that money you could buy the best Cortina not some one off that you are going to struggle with. Yes I think a museum's a good place ...

Re: Nicest Granada I've ever seen
There is a Granada Ghia Estate that appears at a local Classic car show most years, fully loaded even with A/C. he has never driven it in the rain and it does show. He was telling me he has purchased rare extras from all over Europe for it. I cant remember the exact mileage but it is very low and h...

Re: Weirdest Cortina I've ever seen!
The seller doesn't say much about the history of it, but the interior looks like one of those "behold the safetycar of the future we will all be driving in ten years" Tomorrow's World kind of thing. Like you'd see some ladies getting in the back, dressed in the height of 2000s fashion (as ...

It will definitely. But, as Paul observes, there'll be others that would love it.Andrew 2.8i wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 4:11 pmI wonder if the 666 plate could put some potential buyers off?

Weirdest Cortina I've ever seen!
..look at this "safety development" Cortina. Really bizarre thing, like it has permanently deployed airbags surrounding the interior.

So AI without the I, just what we have all been waiting for!! Amazon are using AI to give bloody awful `synopses` of customer`s feedback. This is the future? You`d think it would at least check the spelling though :D Customers like the quality, value, performance, and weight of the drill. For examp...

That's what I like about old cars.. off the road for 4 months, £9 quids worth of plugs, £20 of fuel and she started up after 30 seconds of cranking.
