Seems I was just worrying too much, tensioned the belt a tad and sprayed some belt dressing on and its all good again. Fitted my new door window seals today after they finally arrived, looks alot nicer than all the cracked rubber. New washer pump and weber carb coming sometime this week too.

Thanks for the advice lads, fired it up today and no noises when I pulled off or for the rest of a quick drive. Hopefully it was just some moisture making the belt slip but it still seemed to happen in a strange way.

Got a 1.6ls recently, pretty snazzy car for a 19 year old I think.

I bought a 1.6 LS on thursday, it has no tax so it won't be here till tuesday though. It still has the original vv carb on, are they really that bad?
