Re: Looking to buy some new headlights

After all the time and trouble you went to with the BMW light conversion that cant have been good news. What went wrong with them ? I spotted these, priced per pair - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Crystal-Halogen-headlight-upgrade-kit-lamp-5-3-4-Ford-Capri-headlamp-cibie-PAIR/381703369495?ssPageName=S...

Looking to buy some new headlights

Any recommendations? Not looking to spend a fortune, just want something that takes halogen bulbs and looks more like standard. My old BMW conversion lights are knackered so I just want to go back to original for simplicity sake, and the fact that replacement BMW headlights cost a fortune.
Thanks.

Aww how sweet. Just goes to show how emotional a car can make you and the connections they can make in our lives.

Re: Now I have heard it all....

Yeah the bag of cement comments really get tiresome, the car handles fine without it, infact I'd be willing to bet a bag of cement would make it handle worse due to the pendulum effect. The one I ALWAYS hear without fault is "you don't see many of these anymore" or "I used to have a 3...

Re: A strange situation

No dash covers for me, and it's been in the sun everyday this year and last as I don't have anyplace to store the car and I use it daily. I bet you anything that this is the problem. Only thing I did to the dash was thoroughly clean it in preparation for the vinyl paint, as it only required a couple...

Re: A strange situation

I wonder if it's the plastic paint I used to refurbish the dashboard when the car was being repaired last time.... It's that flexible vinyl paint (from Halfords I think?) that everyone on here raves about. In my experience in the long run its not been very good a the paint is already faded, and turn...

Re: A strange situation

Hmm.... I'll look into this rainx idea, thanks. I haven't noticed it getting worse since installing the new heater fan, it's always been kind of a pain, just getting to a more noticeable and annoying level now. Someone suggested to clean the screen with some vinegar, but I feel like this will just m...

A strange situation

Didn't put this in the q&a section just because it seems so bizarre and isn't really a mechanical problem. But does anyone else find it difficult, nigh impossible to keep their windscreen clean on the inside? No matter how hard i try, and how many times I clean it with glass cleaner it always se...

Thanks for all the suggestions. Think I'll go with the Autoglym spray on wax as can't afford to burn £40 on the posh stuff right now.

Bird poop: What a load of s#*t!

So I've been slacking off on keeping my car clean lately, and a few birds had left their marks. When I finally cleaned the car yesterday, to my horror I found that they had left marks in the lacquer. Most were so bad I actually had to rub the spots down with wet and dry and buff them out with rubbin...

How does your front spoiler attach? I have an RGA one and I can't see any way to attach it other than drilling holes in the bodywork and using rivets.

Is yours a 2.8 or a 3.0? Because burnouts in anything less are pretty much impossible without a wet road lol

Re: starter motor

It's good this zombie thread came back, as it's given me a possible diagnosis for an intermittent problem I keep having when starting mine. For some reason, in hot weather (never does this in the winter) the car just won't start. I hear a little click (which thanks to this thread I've discovered is ...

Re: No matter how carefull and protective of ur car !

Looks great! Hope mine comes out as nice as that when they do it. Thanks everyone, yeah I'm glad the insurance decided to rule in my favour because at the time due to all the hubbub I forgot to get more than a couple of photos, so I was worried they'd say that there wasn't enough evidence, but since...

Re: No matter how carefull and protective of ur car !

Had the same thing happen to me. I parked up next to somebody last October, baring in mind I had only just restored the car for a second time after some moron pulled out Infront of me at a roundabout in October the year prior, so hadn't been back on the road for a whole year yet, and this idiot next...
