Re: Seat won't tilt
Probably the cables have gone Danny. If you can't get new ones, many people seem to bodge the break together with a screw type wiring block connecter. https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/products/7822876/?grossPrice=Y&cm_mmc=UK-PLA-DS3A-_-google-_-PLA_UK_EN_Connectors-_-Terminal_Blocks_And_Din_Rail_...

Seat won't tilt
Hi guys, My GL has suddenly decided that it no longer wants to let the front seats tilt forward... Would this be just because the cable is broken or could there be other issues? It pulls up and still feels like it has the same resistance on the tilt handle, but if I go to pull the seat forward it ju...

Re: NOS Rear Bumper on ebay !!
Too be honest I get fed up of Fords and prices. Had my car 8 years over now, spent a fortune and still nowhere near finished. All a waste of time and money. Even a top end capri realistically to my mind is worth 10k tops, I know they go for more but it's people with too much money. I feel the exact...

Re: capri 2.8 / 3.0 strengthening pannels
They're available brand new from CCI Sorry Danny, but CCI don't sell those particular strengthening plates. I know that Steadspeed fabricate panels, perhaps it might be worth contacting them. https://en-gb.facebook.com/Steadspeed/ Andrew. Yes I know, I got myself confused with the other strengtheni...

Re: Nice eBay 2.8i
Wait for the winter months when some people lose interest in owning a classic car. Hopefully we may start to see cheaper spares prices as the value of the cars reduce and people don't take on unrealistic projects. Fingers crossed! Never a bad thing to see prices come down unless you buy for investm...

Cars that seem reasonably priced, are not selling that quickly :? This is now on bids so might be a good indication of the current market? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Capri-2-8i/232822970449?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49129%26meid%3D3ce443f062d84a148563b984ae3d937e...

Looks like you've done a great job so far with it! Let us know how you get on with the textured paint, I'm curious to see how well it works

Re: my capri 280
Definitely not worth the risk on old tyres - original and cool they may be, but safe almost certainly not haha
They reckon you should change tyres every 7-10 years even if you don't use all the tread

Re: capri 1.6GL bareshell rebuild
They don't look too bad, just a little faded. If you spray with either normal black paint or Halfords flexible vinyl paint and apply in thin coats it should keep the texture nicely as well, has worked for me on two or three sets

I always think it's really cool to still have these NOS parts with the original packaging, more so because the packaging looks cool! Unfortunately I can never justify the price of buying them

Re: capri 1.6GL bareshell rebuild
Both of those are sound ideas but I would just fit a twin choke 32/36 weber and inlet manifold as fitted to 2 litre models. If fitted with a 2 litre camshaft and a four branch exhaust manifold this combination should put it up to 85 -90 bhp which isn't far behind a 2 litre. It may need a rolling ro...
