how much would it cost me for a good 2nd hand 2lt auto rear axle?
only asking as i have one sitting in the garden(might poss want to sell)

go 4 the 2lt. if you get the 1.6 after about a week you will wish u had bought the 2lt
the 2lt responds better to tuning and its a lot cheaper to tune.to get the 1.6 up to 2lt power output u will spen loads.
go 4 the 2lt......................................

90% sure its a crappy fuse connection,take them out and clean the ends

dont go down the 3lt brake route.they are crap as well and they are unique to the 3lt
re-build your own brakes and go from there.................there are loads of very good conversions out there..........am putting 283mm cossie disc's and mondie calipers on my 3lt(has 2.8i legs)

diff bearings........pain in the arse...need to be set up or the howl like a stuffed pig
easy way pick up a good 2nd hand axle
or do the wheel bearings and turn up the radio

saw this on a 9lt scania truck .driver put in miles too much oil.........loads of noise...............loads of smoke......................engine in about a million bits(it did run for about 2 mins b4 it let go)................................................................................... it ran...

hi do you have any info on the electrics in the kit car? am 99% sure the early 540/740 engines had a standalone ecu if this is the case then electrics should not be too hard.the only prob is if the ecu is not stand alone. if any one knows please let me know. 4lt bmw in a capri..........................

am still toying with the idea of a 4lt bmw v8(286 bhp as std)only prob auto box 99% sure they did not make any manual 740/540.but am sure someone will correct me lol :) i have several 3.5 rover v8's but every man and his dog have done this conversion,dont think any one has the bmw one??? :roll: am o...

just one question
how did you mate the 4 speed box to the rover lump?
am in the process of building myself a v8 capri,i was going to use the rover 5 speed box but if its easy to use the 3lt box then i might go that route(i have both gearboxes)
