Re: CCI rear louvre fitting kit

I called Auto-plas today but it looks like the old boy retired. At least I hope that's what happened as they said 'he's no longer with us' and I didn't like to ask! Anyway I got some help from a nice lady called Jenny who should be posting out the parts to me this week. You'll need a KH number to wo...

Re: Capris, Escorts, Grannies, skids, and angry cyclists.

I thought I would chip in on this as I have a foot in each camp so to speak. As well as driving a Capri and occasionally my wife's Rav I also manage a sizeable bike shop. There's not much love for cyclists on the video comments but drivers might not realise Box Hill has been popular with cyclists si...

Re: CCI rear louvre fitting kit

Thanks for the tip! A guy off Instagram picked a kit up from them last year so it's looking hopeful. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

CCI rear louvre fitting kit

I hope everyone's enjoying the bank holiday weekend? Has anyone used this kit from CCI? Even better has anyone got pictures of it on the car?

Thanks,

Re: Welder recomendations

Looks like an awesome piece of kit, but if the missus ever found out I'd be out on my ear

She thinks I spend all my money on the Capri already. She may have a point there though...

Re: Welder recomendations

Thank Nige much appreciated! I picked up this welder below off Evil-bay at the end of last week. Price looked very good and came complete with arc activated head shield and two small bottles of gas. http://i1064.photobucket.com/albums/u364/Bracey28i/Mobile%20Uploads/20170412_163636_zpsv7vewtys.jpg G...

Re: Welder recomendations

Hey Mc Tool, You make a valid point. Regards doing the work myself, I'm realistic about my own abilities and I'm not expecting anything to be easy. I have however turned my hand to a number of things over the years and usually ive been successfully. Longer term it's not viable for me to keep paying ...

Re: Welder recomendations

Thanks for the tips, much appreciated especially on the burns dangers. What's the best way to protect the car? I have MDF sheet laying around but is a welding blanket or simular a better way to go?. I'll be welding at the bottom of the rear panel which is the same end as the fuel tank. Is that somet...

Welder recomendations

Hi guys, So it looks like I need to start tackling rust on the car. Worst that I can see is on the bottom edge of the drivers door as below... http://s1064.photobucket.com/user/Bracey28i/media/20170407_131256_zpstwcrfwoa.jpg.html?filters[user]=145294373&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0 http:...

Re: Removing door cards

I just gently pursuaded it off with a mallet and a piece of wood. Always better to know you're going in the right direction before getting the hammers out! Now to see what the damage is as I've got corrosion in the door.... Thanks Pbar;)

Removing door cards

Hello, I've just been wrestling with this but haven't made much progress. I can't seem to remove the door release handle. Apparently it slides forwards towards the front of the car but mines just not moving. Do you need to pry at the same time or just slide? Any ideas on making it move more easily? ...

Zakcapri on ebay

Hi guys,

I'm sure some of you have seen this car around on Instagram etc. It's up for sale now on eBay for the second time having failed to hit the £25k asking price the first time round.

Erratic revs on idle

Hi guys,
Recently my 2.8 has been hunting on idle when cold. Revs rise and drop between 600 - 1100 approx. Once up to temperature and driven for 10 mins it's fine. Where should I start on this? It was serviced in June with new plugs timing etc and has done about 1000 miles since.

Many thanks,
Dan

Arc welder in Lidl

As per the topic, I was rather surprised to see my local Lidl have Arc welders in at £29.99. Rather an odd item for a discount supermarket....?
