Re: STOLEN STOLEN B925 GRB SILVER 2.8I
Very gutted for you mate :( Ring around Burtons, Tickover etc as they are South East based and know the spares and OSF market so they may hear of bits coming in on the grapevine, or know who/ where it may be. I used to work at time 106.6 so I know a few people in the area. Will make sure they are al...

Re: Fuel prices
I wasn't blaming any individual Johnna, I was blaming society as a whole- individuals yes, but also the governments and banks who encouraged and took part in reckless lending and spending... Yes estate agents fixed prices- at a level people were willing to pay and banks were willing to loan. No one ...

Re: Fuel prices
The government didn't ruin the economy, we did. Massive mortgages and remortgages pushing house prices up double figure percent points month on month, the idea that a new telly and a holiday are reasons to take out loans and spending imaginary money on credit cards like people had the coins spare in...

Re: HID conversions
I've got the BMW lights on my car (not the HID yet though, will do that ASAP). Have to say the light clusters aren't as cheap as they used to be, I couldn't find any for less than £40 but then maybe that's because I'm a Southerner ;) The guys are right, if you grab some instructions off here (they'v...

hello mate, sounds like a bit of a project, on the car and the engine! What are your plans for the lump? I wouldn't have thought the BOA bottom could take twin turbo grunt?

Re: How rare our 1300 Capris?
Mark 1 1.3's are comparatively common. There are certainly far more of them than mark 3 1.3's. Which is about the only time you can say that really. There's plenty of mark 1's knocking around, but precious few 1.3 mk3's were ever built, let alone survive, as the world had moved on in terms of car pe...

Re: your favourite Xmas drink?
It's all about the port! My usual christmas drinks list goes a little bit like... Christmas eve... Start drinking at about half two when the turkey goes in the oven (we do christmas dinner on Christmas eve, German roots!). We'll start with the ale (Ringwood and Badger are the local breweries, both g...

Re: respray job
It's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' job I'm afraid. I paid a gand for an exterior paint job mine having stripped the car myself, and it's already starting to go a bit ropey in places after just a year and 400 miles. Guy up the street paid £10,000 for an all in job in diamond white on his...

Hahaha I love this, I was expecting a huge list of technical jobs, prepping for a respray, taking the engine apart for a cursory and replacing the brake lines and calipers, but no... Check the A-posts, stick a big filter on it and we're done! My kinda resto heh :) If it's a 2.2 on those wheels you'r...

your feet on the pedals, your hands on the wheel, & your arse on the seat tell you all you need to know, if you can interpret them, all passing a driving test does is give you a licence to carry on learning on your own! time to have  & feckin hibernate. /quote] Hate to be picky, but b...

Re: Driving without an air filter
I've got to be honest I drive without at the moment, simply for lack of a flexi hose. I wouldn't recommend it but a jubilee clipped on sock works for me. Not such a good idea with mechanical carbs though, you get the fabric jammed in it and you'll be stuck throttle open.

You missed a bit on the headlight bowls and sill bottoms You want to be taking at least three seconds to paint a car, taking prep time into account.

Strange country the US. On the one hand they consider 5.0 litres an acceptable engine size for a runabout, on the other they have the only commercially viable hydrogen filling station system in the world. Hydrogen is the fuel of the future. Fact. The only problem is people won't buy hydrogen cars ye...

Even better Major, fit a chair to a miniature railway, with pre lit fags positioned strategically along the route. Just hop on and off when you get to the kitchen/ shitter/ tv/ wherever you want to go. In mother Russia, train drives YOU. Obsessive cleaning, tinkering, chopping and changing and talki...
