Re: Vin Plate
Musty be careful not to drink beer on auction end day. Not a good idea ! We've all fallen into that trap! I agree that the bidding will go crazy. This is the same seller that sold the last one for over £120. It might be worth contacting the seller direct to ask if they have any more they can ...

Re: That was unexpected
Went to a small local show by me that dan told me about, I only went to have a look but ended up showing my capri lol. The bloke on the gate just threw a pass in my hand and told me to park by an old Morris. I quite enjoyed it really apart from the car being dirty and covers in cat paw prints. Met ...

Oh dear. That falls into the category of a misguided seller who believes that if something is old (ish) it MUST be worth a fortune.

A girl at work thought that a petrol would run on diesel but not the other way around, that's got to be the best I've heard! Hi, That is a good one, alright! :) Your talk of clueless people reminded me of when someone once told my sister that "cars are more economical in 3rd gear"! ...

Re: looking for a scrap 2.0 capri
I don`t know if it`s a realistic idea - whatever you could buy for that sort of money is gonna be pretty far gone. You`d just be swapping out worn parts for others which may be even worse. Better to use the funds for new/reconditioned parts. :agree: £500 buys a lot of decent parts instead of a load...

Unfortunately the ones that moan about prices on eBay are te ones that pushed prices up by using eBay. eBay is a curse that has killed everything that was once aFORDable Hi, Yes, all too true. It was inevitable as Ebay has allowed sellers to reach a much bigger market than they ever could have adve...

But they`re just work tools, they have no interest in them, there`s no love! Because they`re so `available` now, they`re just seen as another `white goods` like a fridge; you have a car to get to work, it does it`s job. Yes, that's it! Just another white good, and there's no enthusiasm or passion i...

Sounds like a bloke I used to work with. He always worked in low paid factory jobs but used to buy ferraris and such then put better engines in them. So naturally we asked to see some or at least pics of him working on one... I'm still waiting lol Hi, I love to hear these stories, but I never corre...

I can remember when 500 got you a 2 litre Capri with mot tax, a full tank and service history and you knocked em on the price because it had a tiny rust bubble on the wing. Lol, you couldn't give em away once now look at the prices :) Hi, I've just been reading some old CCI mags from 1990-91. You w...

But even when I'm tinkering on a weekend I get a lot of people, mainly the slightly older 45-50+, stop and have a chat and they usually say about how that old thing (pointing to capri) is much better and easyer to work on than this (pointing at lexus) ha Hi, In my opinion, present company excepted,...

Hi,
How much are you willing to spend? Even basket cases seem to sell for upwards of £500 these days.
Wouldn't your money be better spent just buying the parts you need as and when you need them?
Just a thought!

Can do. If the engines hot I don't press em. They are all different with different states of tune. Each engine has a personality. Is a bit like a wife. You have to get to know it and not upset it then when you have the harmony it's happy you can give it a good caning and it will reward you and hope...

Unfortunately there was a bad accident under the bridge later on, a guy lost control of a S1 Escort with Cosworth running gear and after bouncing off a couple parked cars under the bridge, went head on into an Audi S3, was a total mess. Hi, Oh dear, not a good end to what looks like a great evening...

Thanks fella. I like to spend ages on ebay just browsing through the Capri parts but my missus had something to say about that along the lines of "you spend more time and give more attention to ebay than to me !" Still to this day I do not know the point my beloved was trying to make........

Hi,
It'd nice to see that this Capri has been given a new lease of life with an owner that is prepared to cherish it!
To be honest, the customising thing isn't for me, but it is a gorgeous shade of blue.
All the best,
Andrew.
