Re: Re: The sunroof is a creature of evil..

There is a rail that runs from behind the sun roof that locates in a metal tab with a plastic fitting. On mine this fitting broke and like Mike I ended up with a shredded roof lining, so beware!!

Re sunroof

<t>Do you mean the headlining? This is on a metal frame that push fixes in with, I believe, the same type of fixing used to fix the door cards. To take the frame out you will need to slide the roof back and remove the chrome rail on one side as you look in the roof from outside that is held by a cou...

Re: People just have no sense of moral responisbility these days

Know what you mean. A bus driver ripped someone's wing mirror off outside our office the other day, had a quick look and buggered off! We left details on the parked car but it just creates unnecessary hassle.

Re: TRACK ROD ENDS

What are your TCA bushes like as these will lead to movement, esp on corners, if worn.

you used banana skins Glyn!
I haven't got an LSD but I did put some oil in my axle last Christmas that stank the place out - it came from CCI as part of their kit with the special additive and new gasket. Afarid I can't remember what applications it listed though.

And I quote...

I dare say some of you have seen this but I've just fitted some Green Stuff pads and even read the instructions where it says "Brake performance may be reduced during the bedding in period. Avoid emergency braking for the first 200 miles..." Hmmm!!

The metal connecting tab on one side of my heated rear window has come loose. Any body had any success with sticking one back on, if so what did you use?

Yeah, ended up giving it more than one coat of clear found it hard to judge how much was enough when it was wet. The thinnish patches only become apparent after.

Spraying

<t>Back in what passed for summer this year I sprayed one of my wings - electric spray gun, mineral blue cellulose and single pack lacquer - the end result wasn't too bad but today I notice in a couple of places a series of fine blistsers in the paint work that aren't rust coming through. I did the ...

Tracking

I would have thought tracking could cause it to wear like this as each wheel has it's own tracking adjustment. Certainly worth getting it checked.

No expert...

<t>but everything I've seen on this type of swap suggests it's more hassle than it's worth. I imagine you will need a diff change to go with the new engine and would also think the front suspension will need upgrading as that from a 1.6 won't be strong enough. I've also read that the standard 1.6 sh...

Anti freeze

<t>As it's not cold at the moment I wouldn't bother with anti freeze until you find out where your water went. There could have been an air lock which meant not enough was in the system or perhaps you have a leak. Have all the hoses been checked for tightness since the gaskets were done? Give it a g...

Mike...

<t>I noticed a similar water trail on mine once after washing it. I reckon its the seals around the rear windows though I could be wrong. Anyway one of mine was def a bit loose so I stripped out the rear cards and went all the way round the glass with some Halfords window sealer. Has been OK since.<...

Re CCI

<t>From a personal point of view I can't really complain about CCI but, thankfully, I have not yet needed any major parts. I have recently placed 3 or 4 orders and all have turned up within a week.<br/> I don't think it is really a practical idea to set up a new national Capri club it would be quite...

Misfiring

Can't speak for 2.8s but over the years I've nearly always found misfiring down to dodgy plugs. There are other reasons but I'd start there.
