Oh no, can't do the gym, too many blokes looking at themselves in mirrors :xd:
Do you live in Stoke on Trent ?
Cripes that's 'oop North' for me. Surrey lad me, it's the snowflakes that fancy themselves in our local gym, so I stick with being a lycra lout and decorating as exercise.

Re: Engine Swap - Pinto 1600 to Pinto 2000

I had a rolling road session that put out 105bop - 1.6, 2.0l cam, 32/36 carb and spoertex exhaust You can easily have fun with a1.6 - side draughts are next!! Oops, bit late now. Just collected an 85k miles 2.0, ex-2.0S motor. It's still in the van, I'm working out how on earth to get it back out, ...

Re: The last Brooklands

Having been a Chairman and Treasurer in a previous 'hobby', it's a surprisingly stressful role even without being involved in organising such a huge event. It's a shame there seemed to be a lack of understanding from Brooklands, you'd have thought they would be familiar with large car shows really.....

Re: Engine Swap - Pinto 1600 to Pinto 2000

Reading you asking about whether to upgrade the disks and drums made me wonder how much bhp differential you are actually expecting. Though the standard 1.6 was only 73bhp this rises quickly when a 32/36 carb is added and a bit more when the 2 litre camshaft is used- this is the spec of the 1.6 S e...

Re: Engine Swap - Pinto 1600 to Pinto 2000

Thanks. I have a 32/36 already on the 1600 so aside from changing 1 jet it's a straight swap. Do I actually need to change the servo, or will the current one be ok? Carry on as is. I had a 1600 set up on my for years as that started life as a 2.0. You might want to upgrade in the future as more pow...

Engine Swap - Pinto 1600 to Pinto 2000

Righty ho, I've found a 2ltr pinto with a bit of history as opposed to a gamble on Ebay, and tempted to add it to the list of changes to D332 over the Winter, rather than continue to run the tweaked 1600 (which in fairness is going really quite well at the moment). Aside from the flywheel and clutch...

Re: Brooklands 8.9.19

Cheers, I found the 2 taken by Chris were better than the photography UK one which had an overlapping car in the background. The pics do show just how low D332 is, me thinks suspension in on the list during the Winter refurb..

Re: 50 Years of the Capri - Historic Brooklands Circuit & Museum - 8th September 2019

My first ever car show, and what a great day out. Really nice to meet a few folks from here and have a chat. I got a few piccies which I'm working through, and some of the convoy from Sainsburys to Brooklands on video which I'm working on to get a short edit. The queue to get in was a pain, but the ...

Re: Sainsbury meet Sunday

Well that was a decent turnout, both at the meeting place and the day itself. I'm sure there's many to come, but a couple of snaps from the meeting point, I don't claim to be David Bailey.

Re: Sainsbury meet Sunday

Easy way of identifying the group anyone? I'm easy to spot. I'll be the one at Sainbury's with matchsticks holding my eyes open! I've just worked out my route timetable: https://i.postimg.cc/VNYCNQy8/IMG-1331.jpg Andrew. That's a decent run. I've got 12 miles to do between home and Brooklands...

Re: 50 Years of the Capri - Historic Brooklands Circuit & Museum - 8th September 2019

I think preparations are complete. She's out of the garage and I've pumped the tyres up. Also re-fitted all of the dash panels so a near complete interior, though I haven't put the carpet back in. The all important camera mount has been sorted, so hopefully get a decent bit of video of the day, incl...

I suspect that we are not going to be the only ones meeting at Sainsburys (though I reckon the nearer Tesco will be more busy). Easy way of identifying the group anyone? I'm easy to spot, manky blue Laser with the tailgate finished in a fetching grey primer colour, and really quite low down...

I hope to be there by 0930, my lad is coming along so we will be doing his paper round in the Capri then heading straight over, should make it on time, unless there's a load of vintage car traffic..

Re: why?

But if a bike misjudges a gap when he`s squeezing between 2 cars and gouges your paintwork, there is no comeback, no way of identifying them, and no insurance. And I can assure you they NEVER stop, Mirrors, paintwork I`ve seen it many times . This is what annoys people. I don`t know what it`s like ...

Re: 50 Years of the Capri - Historic Brooklands Circuit & Museum - 8th September 2019

For those who have or haven't been to Brookland, I asked Kris on FB which entrance to use. Members Hill (JTI) is the one of you are arriving in Capri, not the normal entrance behind Mercedes Benz World.
