Re: How change engine????

Been reading this topic with great interest, I too have 1600 and intended to lob a Rover V8 in after having one in my Ford Pop. Totally agree with the heavy old V6 being a no no, but is it really a pig getting the Rover in? I was allways led to believe its pretty straight forward. Please don't piss ...

Re: Beak's new Capri, American Road Trip and Henry Ford Museum

Fantastic story, proves what a true petrolhead you are! I had to drive all the way from Stoke to Crewe for my Cappa {8 miles!} Make sure you take a pair of mk2 headlights and indicators back in your hand luggage on your next visit, always thought twin headlights on mk2's look odd! Shame about tyres ...

Re: Hmmmmm the Standard Dream

Whilst I may be straying away from the car in question {great car but bad colour and engine choice} I always remember my dad trying to sell his 2 year old mk5 Cortina in 1983, no one would touch it with a barge pole cos' it was a poverty model in 'Beige' with turd brown interior. Cortina fans would ...

Re: Hmmmmm the Standard Dream

Shite colour but needs preserving because of its originality. Poverty models in shit colours are rare because they were bad sellers. My first Cappa 22 years ago was a 1300 X/flow, the engine looked lost in the vast bay and it was worse on juice than the 1600 Laser that replaced it, Shell just too he...

Totally agree, I just love commercials and 'quirky' vehicles. This van reminds me of Robocop for some strange reason! :agree:

Re: Beakster's Rattle Can Paint Job

Have you seen those gizmo's that turn a spraycan into a spraygun?
Just a bit of plastic but quite clever really.
Used one 20 years ago on my 1980, 1300 X-Flow powered mk3 Cappa,{0-60 in 3 weeks}. Are they still available? :headscratch:
