Bird's custard should have to change it's name as it's not just for birds, blokes can eat it too!

Changed the spark plugs and coolant yesterday, that was fun at times and some skinned hands etc

Thanks Andy!
That spark plug nearest the alternator is a great one for scraping knuckles......

Re: Ford's 50th Birthday celebration of the Capri

Hopefully both days are a success especially for more local Capri owners :) :agree: I haven't got a clue how much goes into organising a show of this scale, but I imagine that it's quite time intensive. So, fair play to the guys for actually getting something organised, I wish I had the wherewithal...

Fair enough.
I was taking the wheels off anyway as I'm starting the annual clean of the underside while the weather is still half decent.

Hi Andy,
I have the Sportex manifolds. If I bought a Janspeed exhaust, I would have to buy their manifold as well.

So due to the Friday video slot I thought I would do a update via video Enjoy ( so no tea towel was harmed during the filming ) https://youtu.be/VV-o6RSilNo https://youtu.be/VV-o6RSilNo Great! It's the headrests, the suspense you were building up was ...

Re: Alloy Wheel sealant.

Time for an update. It's been seven months and over 2000 miles since I protected the wheels with Poorboys alloy wheel sealant. Obviously, the outer faces have been cleaned regularly, but has the Poorboys fared well on the inside of the wheel? Definitely a much tougher test. Three coats were applied ...

Re: Garage prep for B112

So it’s the heat “ who would have thought that “ The heat can be a contributing factor to the paint coming off on the tyres. Parking in the same spot for a long time will also do it. When I did mine, I waited two weeks for the paint to fully harden before putting the cars back in the garage and the...

Re: Ford's 50th Birthday celebration of the Capri

I forgot about Brooklands for a moment... I think it will be one or the other for me, although with both shows being in September, the final decision of which to attend may well depend on which show has the better weather forecast. The Brooklands show could well have the better attendance, as ...

Re: Heater & Engine Temp Gauge Linked..?

I've just re-read your original post. The heater and the engine temperature gauge aren't linked, sadly. The main suspect for the non-working heater would be the heater motor or it's fuse. The replacement motor is available to buy new if needed although, unfortunately, the job is more difficult and m...

Re: Heater & Engine Temp Gauge Linked..?

Hi, Welcome to rhe forum. I would start with testing/replacing the temperature sender. I'm not sure where they are located on the Pinto engine, although somebody will know. Before buying a new one, make sure that you are getting a 5V feed when the ignition is on. https://www.tickover.co.uk/shop/cont...

Shuold look better with the floor painted. It will be interesting to see how you get on with the floor paint. I would recommend cutting some squares of carpet to have under the tyres when the car is parked. If you don't, you may find that you will have to leave the car outside the garage for quite ...
