Re: Proposed 2.8i purchase

Hi again Neil, Do you mind me asking where you bought the car? I don't believe I've seen that one advertised on the sites I look at. You don't have to say if you don't want to, I'm just being nosey! What is the mileage of the car, and does it have any history? As I said, from the picture it looks to...

Re: Proposed 2.8i purchase

Thanks Andrew The only other problem is some very light bubbles on the filler cap, but another is being supplied with the car! Do you know where i can get a complete parcel shelf from? i know the Capri Club sells them but you have to use your hardware which i won't have! More photos will follow soo...

Re: Who thinks eBay charges are a rip off?

It's like a car boot sale that you stay at for a week or more with millions of the worlds population walking by. Hi, That's an accurate analogy, except for one small difference. At the car boot sale, two or more buyers won't get in a bidding war and inflate prices. Good for sellers, bad for buyers....

Re: Proposed 2.8i purchase

Hi, Congratulations! :applaud: The car looks a beauty, lacquer red always looks stunning on a Capri. 8-) Apart from the parcel shelf, what else needs doing? From the picture it looks to be in fine fettle! You should post some more photos in the members cars section, so we can get a better look. All ...

Re: New shirt to match my car (when its wrapped)

Hi, Thanks for posting the vid, very interesting. It doesn't say how long it took the guys to do the bonnet, though. They say they've "never really done it before". What does that mean? Either they have or they haven't! I wonder if the vinyl will stay stuck to the panels on the bits where ...

Re: NEW PERFORMANCE EXHAUST KNOCKING

Hi, I'll just mention that I found that the join between the tailpipe section and the centre section of the exhaust had an overlap of about 160mm, so there was plenty of room to slide the rear section up and clamp it in position. Another point I'll mention is that I've just fitted new springs and th...

Re: Viscous Fan Issue

Yeah. But what Peter is getting at is you're slightly missing the point of having a 30 year old ford in the first place ;) :agree: Hi, In my opinion some light tinkering is all part of the joy of ownership, and you get to learn about the different parts of your car. In addition, when you are tinker...

Re: Not sure I like the look of stretched tyres.

Hi, It addition, it would appear that the law regarding stretched tyres is a bit sketchy. So, not only do they look silly, they are potentially dangerous and likely to get your car pulled over every time you see a Police car. So in conclusion, I think stretched tyres are a great idea! :sarcasmalert:...

Re: Not sure I like the look of stretched tyres.

Hi, Isn't it amazing how this thread has evolved from stretched tyres to dogs' genitalia, via the Citroen BX? It would be nice if the subject meandered back to cars, though! With the original topic in mind, I'll add this photo of a nice, tasteful Lupo. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d200/me_and_t...

Re: Who thinks eBay charges are a rip off?

Hi, I understand Martin's point about buyer's who prefer Ebay, however, I would say that sometimes the person browsing might see an item that they weren't originally intending to purchase. It's happened to all of us, whether on Ebay or in an actual shop. Back on topic, it's been quite some time sinc...

Re: New shirt to match my car (when its wrapped)

Does anyone know the best place to buy the wrap vinyl or whatever it is from? Hi, Have a look at this list from the manufacturers: http://solutions.3m.co.uk/wps/portal/3M/en_GB/Where-To-Buy/Corporate/?load=1 Most printing companies these days can probably print your design from the computer onto a ...

Hi,
I'm not sure about the exact colour. The best photo I can find of an original finish fuel tank is here:

Scroll down to the seventh photo, or take your time and drool at all of them!

I hope it helps,

Re: FOR SALE - Cosworth YB Powered Red 1983 MkIII Capri.

Hi, I think your car looks like it's finished to a high standard, it's a credit to you. Stunning! 8-) I think that the price your asking is a fair reflection of what's been spent in terms of money and labour. Unfortunately, the harsh reality is that you may have to wait a while for a buyer who feels...

Hi, I agree, the black fourth placed car is the one that looks less customised than the others, which is probably why it's the most pleasing to the eye today! :) Interestingly, CCI still sell the black headlight covers if you want that eighties look on your car, also rear and side window louvres see...

2 and a qtr inch tube is way too big for a 1.4 3 cylinder engine. Hi, That's probably true. I believe that the stainless Janspeed system has a smaller size tube (1 and 3/4?). However, for most people it's simply a question of finances. The Sportex complete system, including manifolds is £432 and th...
