I highly recommend trying Coops insurance at your renewal time.

Did you try applying any of that chrome vinyl wrap on the bumpers?

Re: Taking bumpers etc off?

Have got plain ones on car now (see members car forum) which I think look really nice without any advertising or logos, just the very tiny legal print hardly noticeable unless very close up. Nick, Yes your 'plain' plates do look very good indeed. Loosing the Batchelors plates is no great loss, I do...

Re: wanted mk3 capri runner/non runner/project/shell etc

Hi,
I think it's fantastic what you do to the cars, and it's great to see them restored to their former glory for new owners to enjoy. Great photos too.
Although it does explain why everyone else says that Capris are a rare sight on the roads these days.........they're all in Doncaster! ;)

Re: What is this?

Can't find any authentic empirical evidence...so forum based anecdotal evidence it is! Hi, That's all we've got to go on, so it must do! I can't find any sales figures of specific models either. I would have thought that 500 made in total seems too low. In the Steve Saxty book he states that sales ...

Re: How "cheeky" do you get?

I love haggling. I was on holiday in Spain a few years back and my mom wanted some sun glasses, he started at 50 euros. I got them for 5 in the end lol. I'm not one for confrontation, but when it comes to saving money, I can make an exception! :) It's possible to haggle on the high street in this c...

Re: Do you get wheel wobble on your Capri?

Just wondering, does everyone that has a wobble have the weights on the insides? Well, having no weights on the outside of the rim won't help. As I stated on my thread on the subject a while back, if you don't have weights fitted on the outside rim effectively you can only balance the inside half o...

Re: How "cheeky" do you get?

Hi, Negotiation is all part of the game at renewal time. Haggle, threaten to leave if they don't play ball. It's not a bluff, there are plenty of insurance companies around where you can take your business. The insurance companies love those people who just renew their insurance automatically and do...

Re: Taking bumpers etc off?

Hi,
I agree with pbar in that a de-bumpered and de-spoilered car doesn't quite look right. I'm not against modification, it's just not for me. However, if you decide to de-bumper etc, it must be done correctly with the holes filled and painted.
Just my opinion, for what it's worth!

Martin,
Do you recommend any particular brand of oil?
I use Halfords classic car oil 20/50 which is made, I think, by Comma. Is this good enough or should I ditch it for something else?

just think it was a shame to change a car that looks like it just came out of the box at a time when entirely original cars in that condition are rare. Hi,
I think that it looks fine on the 280 7 spokes.......However, in my opinion, it would look much better on the original pepperpots. :)

Stunning car, I wonder what condition it's in now?

I read somewhere that only 500 were sold in the UK. Hi, I'm not sure about the sales figures of the GT4, as I can't find any figures in any of my books. One thing is for sure. There can't be that many around now. I really like the look of the GT4 and I have never seen one in the flesh Same here. Fo...

Re: my car- UPDATED SUNDAY 22/6/2014

Mate I use Autoglym Super Resin Polish. They do a few different ones in their product range but this one is the best in my opinion. Very easy to use but only if body panels are cool, out of direct sunshine. It really does leave a fantastic shine and an excellent protective layer. Nick, That's the s...
