Re: vin plate search update

Hi,
I see from the photo you have posted that you have already tried retro-uk.
Try this place:

CP445 is the one you need, I think. :)

Re: vin plate search update

Hi,
I wonder if a company like this one may be able to help you out?

And this one to do the stamping:

As always, it's worth a try.

Re: Capri Meet in 4 Weeks!

Hi,
The forecasted weather seems to be improving slightly. The BBC says the rain should be over by around 11 on Saturday morning. Perhaps we should allow a few hours before making a final decision?

Re: Capri 2.8 Special, 2 Owners, 52k - Auction 14th June 201

Hi,
This looks like a very tidy 2.8 special. If you're the seller why aren't you selling it through your usual channels?

Re: NEW PERFORMANCE EXHAUST KNOCKING

Il be honest. All the sportex Ashley and cci ones I'm convinced come from the same factory. Hi, You're probably right. I doubt that there are many manufacturers of exhausts in this country that can cope with a production run, as opposed to one-off builds. The CCI systems used to be made by T.I. Bai...

:agree:

I think Aldi and Lidl are a good source of occasional use tools. That is, great for DIY use, maybe not up to the standards required by professionals in their trades.

I would be happy to have these badges on my car, as they look very good. Just not at those prices......

Didn't Ant and Dec use a Capri before for something? Hi, A white 2.0GL on an earlier series of Saturday Night Takeaway in 2009. A Capri was also featured in their 2006 film 'Alien Autopsy'. Guess they have a soft spot for them You could be right there, but then, who hasn't got a soft spot for a goo...

I tried it one time and it looked crap. You can get chrome effect vinyl wrap that appears to look quite decent though Ill take a look at this stuff but im guessing it aint cheap lol. Hi, £19 from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/MIRROR-CHROME-SILVER-VINYL-x1-52m/dp/B009KUIORC Or different sizes avai...

Re: Chrome paint?

Hi, I haven't used chrome paint for years. There's a reason for that..... ;) I tried it one time and it looked crap. I've quickly done some research on other sites and most people who have used chrome spray paint agree. I think maybe it depends on the size of the item you want to 'chrome'. If it's s...

Hi,
I've only recently bought a torque wrench, now I wonder how I ever managed before. As has been said, you will use it again and again. Well worth the money.

Re: Capri Meet in 4 Weeks!

Hi, No, it doesn't look good. Forecasted weather is heavy rain in the morning with light rain and sunny spells in the afternoon. I'm really looking forward to going, but there's not much point if it's too wet to enjoy the event. I personally feel that it should not be a problem to temporarily cancel...

Re: vin plate search update

Hi Nick,
All these NOS Ford VIN plates appear to be from the same Ebay seller. Have you tried asking them if they are willing to sell one to you direct? You may be able to agree a price that is cheaper than they are selling for at auction. It's always worth a try. :)

Re: how long before the smell goes?

Hi,
On the V6 Cologne, the engine oil filler is incredibly difficult to get to without spilling the oil all over the manifold. I've just bought myself a small liquid pump thing that cost about £7 and I can now pump the oil in with no mess whatsoever. Highly recommended.

Re: Any experience of this company for parts?

Hi,
I bought my power steering rack last year from Euro Car Parts. They had to order it in especially and charged £175 including VAT, minus the £60 surcharge upon return of the old rack.
Most places that sell reconditioned steering racks get them from the same supplier, Delco Remy.
