Re: wiring loom tape in engine compartment

Now I know this may sound like a pretty darn silly question but I gonna take a risk of being lynched and come right out and ask it.... Sometimes in life you just have to be brave and ask away ! Hi Nick, There's no such thing as a silly question. There's stuff you already know and if you don't know ...

Re: How do i understand a VIN plate

Hi again Neil, You may be interested to know that there should be a paper build sheet from the factory taped to one of the rear seat backrests. It's on the back underneath the carpeted bit. If the seats in the car are original the details on here will match the details on the plate on the slam panel...

Re: Wonderland 2014

Hi John, Looks like you've had a fantastic day, thanks for uploading the pics. As usual, an excellent standard of cars. You always go to the best shows! :) There are too many favourites to list, but I think there can only be one candidate for 'best in show'.....Mr Zakowski's motor! :) All the best, ...

Re: How do i understand a VIN plate

Hi Neil, All the information for decoding the VIN can be found in the Ford workshop manual. The build plate (on the opposite side of the slam panel to the VIN) can be decoded on this website. http://www.fordopedia.org/body-plates/static It's a very useful site. For some reason, some of the descripti...

Re: Money for Nothing?

That's nearly as much as I have ever seen a 2.8 listed for. It looks a nice one, not sure of it's worth a deep sea diver less than £12,000 though. Hi, Yes, it does look a beauty in the photos, can't deny that. The original seller's asking price of £8K seems about right in my opinion, maybe up to £9...

Re: Money for Nothing?

this is something else, something unsavoury. Hi, :agree: I know that the man's got to make a living, but over £4K mark-up in a week? The car looked very nice to begin with, I doubt that the dealer who bought it has even had to plug in the vacuum cleaner! When I saw the first classified listing for ...

MKI Escort's, what is it about them??? Hi John, Yes, what IS it about the Escort? You're right, it was a lovely morning and way too good to waste. It was actually the first time I've managed to get out and about so far this year. Hopefully there will be plenty more shows and get-togethers to ...

Money for Nothing?

Hi, Check this out, on Ebay for sale with a dealer in Norfolk. It's a nice looking early 2.8 which was selling on the 4th June for £7950. Presumably now sold. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1982-Ford-Capri-2800I-1-Owner-FSH-70000-miles-/161324007561?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item258fa90089 Same car list...

Re: Bristol Car Meet 08/06/2014

I am going to Ford Fair in August at Silverstone but its getting too big these days. Need to set off before dawn to get in near the front of queue. I really like the smaller more informal shows like what you were at today. Hi Nick, Yes, just the two Capris here, both of them injections. I really li...

That is a great looking car Andrew. Really clean and fresh, the bodywork looks immaculate. Do the lumbar supports fix to the seat, or are they just propped up? Mike Hi Mike, Thanks for your kind comments, they are much appreciated. The lumbar supports are intended to be placed behind the foam in th...

Re: 2.0 Axle on a 2.8I

Hi,
I would suggest that maybe you get an axle specialist to check it out. They're a bit thin on the ground these days, but will01 on here knows someone who can do it. Can't do any harm sending him a PM to ask.

All the best,
Andrew.
