Series/Box Sets Worth Watching

Firstly, I’m not suggesting anybody should stockpile DVD’s.... However, as some of us may end up spending more time indoors than we’d like I thought it would be interesting to discuss our favourite TV programmes. There are a couple of series I’ve never watched but keep meaning to download as t...

Re: The Chinese coronavirus

Chap from our office went to Italy last Sunday as it was already booked and paid for. He's spent most of his time there making arrangements to get back and will then have to shut himself away on his own for two weeks :banghead: Our friends have just got back, they had to get the train (well several...

Re: If your work seems like a graft..

I used to do tyre duty on a Saturday morning occasionally, it was ok actually as it didn’t require too much thinking and was a good way to sweat out the alcohol! A couple of years ago my mate found some old split rims in a field which were the correct pattern for a vintage bus he was restoring, the ...

I thought Corona was Mexican?

Either way I’ve drank so much of it over the years I’m probably immune!

do any of you guy's get this type.. Yeah but its not your car... its not your clothes, its not your choices, hair / wit/ brain / colour choice or favourite band that drives them potty.... its just that they are mental. Theyre not bad, theyre just totally mental and desperate for some answer. And th...

Re: John hills son selling cars

The 24v Granada looks in better condition than mine! The RS1600 will go for crazy money, as will the RS1800. There are some rare cars there, and not just the exotic stuff. Ambassadors, Princesses and Marinas are all thin on the ground. Its a good thing he decided to sell before a lot of them b...

Re: New Daily!

Cheers @pbar, lift off oversteer is good fun! It takes some getting used to as it works the opposite to RWD i.e. lift off to bring the back end around, get on the power to straighten up. It does it quite readily especially in the current cold damp conditions.... The RS is staying Danny don’t worry :...

New Daily!

I actually picked this up on New year's Eve but I haven't had chance to post any photos until now. It's a Fiesta ST Performance Edition, 1 of 600 for the UK only. It's basically a fully specced ST3 (minus panoramic roof) in a not very subtle shade of orange, complete with LSD, ligtweight wheels and ...

Re: WD-40

I won’t go on a WD-40 rant  but what does does everybody use the stuff for? It’s ok for displacing moisture but not much else.... For a quick spray on corrosion protector ACF-50 is good stuff: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ACF-50-Motorcycle-Automotive-Metal-Anti-Corrosion/dp/B0761TV16Y/ref=mp_s_...

Re: Will they notice!

Could you not have welded it from above Peter? Welding upside down isn’t fun at the best of times (I have the scars to prove it!) but especially not if you’re new to it. It’s not a gasless mig is it?

Re: How do we make an all electric capri

The whole thing is so ill-thought-out.... As it stands electric cars are an only really an option for people who make short commutes (unless you are willing to pay serious ££££). Even then, imagine if you worked at say a call centre with 500 other people half of whom decided to buy an electric car i...

Progress

An interesting matchup (forgive my American!): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=djaDAAP_Hac There are two ways of looking at this and it probably depends on what you expect to happen. 1. The 25 year old Cosworth does well to nearly keep up with a brand new hot hatch. 2. The ST does well to outrun a hom...

Re: My New Daily

I’ve always thought these are interesting cars, never owned one myself but I know a couple of people who have. As already suggested, change the oil (very) regularly, dirty oil really does kill them. I believe they benefit from a bit of enthusiastic driving every so often as well which is good. One o...

Re: Any thoughts on the new Ford Capri idea

I do wonder if the SUV trend will last, the school-run-mum image isn’t for everyone and may become a bit naff over time (with any luck!).... I keep waiting for the fashion to end too, like people carriers did, remember them?! Vaguely, I think Ford made one called the Galaxy or something.... I...

Re: Any thoughts on the new Ford Capri idea

I thought this was going to be called ‘Model-E’ following a legal battle between Ford and Tesla over the use of that name which Ford won. Unless that’s something else they have in the pipeline. I really don’t get the SUV trend, I occasionally get an X1 or a Q3 as a courtesy car and I find them awful...

Re: Nissan Qashqai v Lamp Post

I saw an X3 with the front end destroyed and a front strut ripped out this morning.... In a 20 zone.... It had hit a steel railing separating the road and pavement, if that hadn’t been there it would have be parked in Costa Coffee! I just looked at it and thought ‘how’?!?!
