Re: Almost done

I did yes, the metal on the handle is very worn the retaining clip looks mangled and definitely not the same as the other door. It looks like this has been an issue before and something else put in place.

I will make a new one copying the other side, thanks for the tips.

Almost done

So after 3 months of lockdown working on a long list of fixes to the car today was a bittersweet day. The dashboard and newly upholstered seats (thanks to the Mrs) were the last parts to back in, I was very proud of the work and all that has been done as it looks fantastic!! I sat in the driver's se...

Re: Recaro seat runners

I took the runners off and compressed them a little in a vice to close them up again which seems to have helped.
I did the same thing with mine, the play was excessive and this fixed it.

1969 Capri on Youtube

Just curious to see if anyone has been watching the 1969 Capri called Kate being restored on youtube? I have been watching from the start, it has its moments.

Sounds like you had it worse than me but I agree they do sound good. Ignore the struggle to start and roughness, she has only been started up twice since lockdown.

Re: Sportex Exhaust

That helps a lot as it shows not only the rear pipe but also the box, thanks Jasonmarie. That is the exact rubber I have, I ordered those and the larger clamps ready to fit the exhaust. After some messing around the pipe is about 5cm below the rear bumper and has a better clearance between the suspe...

Re: Sportex Exhaust

I have only just found time to mess with the exhaust, it now sits better after some adjustment. Would anyone with a standard exhaust and similar car post some photos so I can get an idea of the clearances to the car and ground. I did take some photos but they were crap and don't help.

Gear Stick Gaiter Collar

Hi,

Does anyone have a spare collar for the gear stick gaiter, I removed the console to replace the gaiter and the collar just crumbled when I removed the retaining clip.

Please don't be too jealous of my artwork below!!

Sportex Exhaust

Hi, I replaced the standard exhaust with a Sportex 2" on my MK3 2.0 and now have some clearance issues. I read some similar posts here and just looking for guidance on the best way forward. The exhaust is crazy close to the rear tyre and just as close to the leaf springs which will certainly kn...

Scratch that, I found a mounting spacer gasket that will do the job.

Carb Gasket

Hi, I noticed a small leak from the carb body onto the manifold. After removing the carb body there is a paper gasket, a thicker bit of plastic and a thinner bit of plastic (not sure what they are called). I can see the rebuild kit has the paper gasket which is great but the thinner plastic part is ...

Seat Support

Hi All,

Both front seats need attention. Any idea where I can get a replacement for these? I say these as I have no idea what their actual name is.

Thanks in advance.
