Re: Questions about 15" wheels.

I've got 13 pepperpots on mine - but has anyone ever seen 15inc pepperpots that look like the original wolfrace sonics? I would love the bigger and wider tire but have never seen a wheel that i liked very much - except possibly an anthracite minilite. I do think the pepperpots make the car to some e...

Didn’t get any numbers no - but they look lovely - very smooth work. Will report back when I’ve got the engine back in her and can open her up after running in

Re: Cologne camshaft comparison side by side - anyone know?

Yep seems like a top bloke and very helpful / generous with his time to explain things. Would love to look around that garage one day if I ever go up north that way. The proof will be in the pudding - Can’t wait to get my foot back on the pedal (after the 1000 mile Run-in!)

Not at all Bug! That’s what the forums for isn’t it? To find new friends and stay in touch (and wang on about our beloved capris all day of course) - and I’m sorry for your loss - I’ve also found that having great friends around for those dark days is a life saver.

Re: Cologne camshaft comparison side by side - anyone know?

Guys - i am very happy I've managed to faciliate a reunion between Bug and Major Tom - I feel a bit like Cilla Black here I love the links above - particularly the one from Stroker - talk about looks being deceiving. Sometimes what seems like 'common sense' is anything but! Really helpful to underst...

Re: Sportex exhaust for mk3 2.8i v6

Got a sportex on my Mk3 2.8 - I don't have any clearance issues to speak of (just go over bumps in the usual careful way) and everyone comments on how mean the car sounds - just perfect. Can't compare to others (janspeed etc) though as only ever had the sportex. -

Re: Specialised Engines

Yep definately - the plan is to get the head converted to unleaded and ported at same time. Basically this all started with a compression test which showed uneven and low compression across cylinders (low even accounting for age) and then finding some of the sparks with bit of rust suggesting a gask...

Re: Specialised Engines

Thanks all – really useful and I’ve spent the last couple of days talking to a bunch of places including Vulcan Engineering and Car Clinic as suggested - all top guys with very useful advice. All this is with me knowing that the Cologne 2.8i is not very tunable for the money – and I’ve seriously con...
