Re: 1/43 project SOO 636R

That’s a good find , but what has interested me is the cortina in the advert with the spoiler on the back as I see a cortina in the 70s with that and tried in late 80s to get one for mine but never found one as I was told ford never put a spoiler on a cortina . They even offered two versions of rea...

That makes sense! :D
But they all who bid were wrong, it has only 2.0 V4 not Pinto!

Re: 2.8 i engine paint

Hi,
yes rocker covers, oil pan, heads and engine block are grey on my 1984 5 speed 2.8i.

But if I'm right 4 speed 2.8i had black rocker covers, so maybe engine was also black. But I don't know...

Re: Tailgate Struts

Hi, so Motomobil struts are on Capri. They are made by Triscan and it looks like they are made specialy for Motomobil, because on label there are under part number written "Motomobil". Struts are 620N. Force feels higher than with Tickover struts but not big difference. Looks ok, they open...

Re: 1979 2.0 Ghia

I notice from your profile pic that you have fog lights, what switch is fitted? Hi Arthur, foglights on my Capri were installed in 2007 when guys in Spain restored it (before I bought Capri). Switch was not original and was on wrong place next to warning lights switch and fader front/rear speakers ...

pbar wrote: Sun Oct 23, 2022 7:55 pm Just a thought Tom, but if you don't want replacements Tickover might give a refund, as they do offer a 12 month guarantee for these, which you can then put towards your Motormobil ones.
Ok, I didn't think of that. Maybe I will try it. ;)

pbar wrote: Sun Oct 23, 2022 7:02 pm Won't that work out more expensive though Tom? Surely the Brexit tax (if applicable) would be far cheaper than buying new Motormobil ones.
Yes, of course. :agree:

But I'm afraid It will be same with new ones from Tickover and then Motomobil will be out of stock again...

Hi, never seen with green light, don't help with it. But front fog light switch should be between steering wheel and ashtray and looks like warning light switch: to 02/1983 (with no light): https://www.classicpartsshack.co.uk/uploads/7/1/2/6/71268953/s938980124187953719_p2832_i1_w640.jpeg from 03/19...

Re: Tailgate Struts

Sorry to hear that Tom, have you contacted Tickover about it, I'm sure that Clive will help. As you bought yours at a similar time to me, it is possible that it was a faulty batch as Andy suggested, as Tickover have had great success with these. I guess it's possible that they could have a short li...

Re: Rear Seat belt advive

Hi,
I don't know, but first you could maybe try CapriGear or Tickover if they have original ones in working order. They also know if you need anything else.
And original ones will surely fit to cut outs in shelf supports! Not sure if these from ebay also fits...
