Re: Capri Clock
I think the mk2s had ticking clocks but i also think they have slightly different look to the sweeping type? I think the colour of the needle is more orange on the ticking type? And maybe the graduations are a different colour?

Re: Setting up weber carb on 2.0 pinto
Ignition timing should also be checked/ set correctly for easy starting. Before coming off the road all those years ago, mine would start first time every time no matter the weather or engine temp even with the supercharger, so it definately possible. Stopping the egine was a bit more problematic fo...

Parcel Shelf Tube length?
Hi everyone, can somebody do me a favour and accurately measure the length of the tube thats on the front of the mk3 parcel shelf? Failing that the overall length including the pivots fitted in the ends? Needs to be a spot on measurement though.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Headlight disassembly
Hey Tom, many years ago i seperated the lens from the reflectors, even heating of the sealant and careful prying / cutting with a thin blade eventually got them apart. A polyurethane sealant/ adhesive should hold them together again ( i think i used a clear silicone sealant) once old sealant is remo...

What carb is fitted? If the weber dgav from the 2.0l, then it could be float valve not sealing, or dodgey power valve diaphram making rich mixture...

exterior door trim removal?
Does anyone know how the metal/ alloy trim found at the base of the door glass on a mk3 is removed from the top of the door skin? The glass wiping strip/ seal is fitted to it, which came out ok but this metal trim is on really well and i dont want to force it and break / bend anything!
Thanks,
Nat.

Just guessing here but could be fuel shut off solenoid? A photo of where on the carb it was attached would help though. Have you replaced the carb with something else?

Re: Kurust ?!
Thanks for the help guys, rightly or wrongly, i stripped back to bare metal (front valance and that patch in the photo) and then epoxy primed.
Will try and re-strip the rear valance and prime that in the week. Feels like time and energy wasted on that stuff!

Kurust ?!
Can anyone help me with a potential problem involving the use of hammerite kurust? Ive bare metalled the front and rear valance of my capri and painted kurust over the whole thing. Now its dried the areas that appeared to be rust free and just shiney steel appear to have rusted! The areas that where...
