Re: Heater

You need to back flush your heater matrix, its easy enough, disconnect the pipes, stick a hose pipe in there and wait till you get clear water I then swap pipes and so on till its really clear! I disconnect the pipes at the engine block and carb end so the risk of damaging the matrix inlet pipes is ...

Re: 2.8i Exhaust

Do yourself a favour, get mid silencers! I had a 2.8 with straight a straight thru system, it ran well, loud as hell and after a cruise from Manchester to Blackpool for the show I changed them back to standard, the car acts as a resonance box and literally deafens you after 20 mins of cruising, if I...

Re: Power steering

I was going to answer this as I`ve done it once or twice, then I see I already have! ha

It makes the world of difference to get power steering on the 2.0, I had a slightly modded 2.8 on a carbed engine sat on a 3L non PS crossmember, my god it needed power steering too!

Re: Power steering

Yeah you can use the 2.8 crossmember, it shifts the engine and gearbox forward about 3/4" so you may need to adjust your gearbox mounts, the 2l engine mounts are stll needed and they will fit on the 2.8 crossmember, the 2.8 pump will work, but, you`ll need to get a sierra/granada pinto powerste...

Just double checking, you tighten the nipple while her foot is on the pedal and to the floor or on the down stoke at any rate? I always start rear drivers, rear passenger, front passenger then drivers.

True, however, they did choose to insure the car and have admitted they made a mistake, a mistake is fine, however blitzy used that vehicle on the basis of their mistake. What they do and dont insure is besides the point once the certificate of insurance was sent which included the vehicle details. ...

Re: valve clearances

You know when you retighten the locknuts, you do recheck the clearances? I`ve fallen for that once, then again when I did it, the engine was super quiet and cut out when the engine reached 3k rpm.

Well, I`m 6'5" and a bit on the wide side, you have to get used to throwing your left leg in under the steering wheel first, but once I`m in its fine, I did a couple of manchester to glasgow to newcastle to manchester runs once, it was quite comfy actually.

Re: rev counter quiestion v8 helpp plz

Not sure why you`d need anything other than a accurate way of reading the engines current RPM, and a terminal screw driver. No, I was just thinking of a way to calibrate it on the bench that`s all. So if it can be done with the trimmer, that`s his answer! Just have to find the right instrument clus...

Re: rev counter quiestion v8 helpp plz

But just think of the modding being done to accomodate the extra counter! :xd: , you can get tacho`s with a potentiometer built in, you can use this as a dial to get the tacho to read good As I remember, there is a trimmer pot on the ford one isn`t there? I wonder if there might be enough adjustmen...
