Re: Warm up regulator

I found that & sent it to my friend, if you have time to re-attach the photos that would be very helpful thank you Also came across this kit on the bay of thieves https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOSCH-WARM-UP-REGULATOR-WUR-REBUILD-KIT-Mercedes-VW-Ford-Porsche-Ferrari/301834352909?hash=item4646bab90d:...

Warm up regulator

Was contacted by a mate last night, after a successful 1000 mile trip round Scotland in his 2.8, he encountered a cold start misfire, but after 20 seconds or so it would clear & run normally. Now he is back home, the bugger wont start at all, he's checked & changed various ignition bits with...

Re: Weber Carb rebuilt

I bought a spare Weber for my 3.0 & then had this feller refurbish it

Its in my spares so I have not fitted it but I was very happy with what had been done as far as I can tell ;)

Re: need new chassis data plate? help!!

It was more for the sellers details than the actual item. Give them a call, I have in the past for stuff that was similar to what I was after, though not the item that was for sale & they came up trumps ;) …. cant hurt getting in touch. Or you could try these, they might be able to point you in ...

Re: Breakdown Cover

I just called the AA number on the renewal letter & picked the option about leaving or all other enquiries I think. Gave them my membership number, then when you get …. "what can I do for you today"? ….. "I've just had my renewal, its a bit steep, what can you do", the music ...

Re: Breakdown Cover

Just my 2 pence worth based on experience, been with the AA for 20 plus years & had very good service, usually when off roading in our Jeep, never once refused recovery. As long as its all legal, MOT, Tax etc, they will recover you from approx 5 meters of the roadside, further away if they can a...

Re: A strange situation

I've noticed this in my Capri & also in SWMBO's Audi & my Touareg. I think its down to the current weather conditions as much as anything, just look at all the dust you get on the cars over the last couple of months, if I leave my windows open a little when parked at work, the inside gets a ...

Re: Mk3 GL Radio Query

The GL's of your one's age just had the standard Ford P21 M/L wave radio with one speaker in the centre of the dashboard. IIRC that was the deal in my 79 GL back in the day as paul says, later upgraded with graphic equaliser (who remembers them :D ) & kick ass Pioneer 150W monsters cut into the...

Re: wanted ford Capri front lower panel

I asked but no one was helpfully That's disgraceful. Three members replied to try and help you. So you found one yourself which is great, but then refuse to explain the outcome any further, except to throw it back in their faces by replying - 'don't need to haha find one and getting it delivered to...

Whist its good that the OP has found the required item, I'm not sure that was the reply that was being sought ?? In finding the said item I & others would have offered our most enthusiastic contrafibularities. I'm sure the OP wouldn't want to cause offence & would be anaspeptic, phrasmotic, ...

Re: removing under sealant

When I did mine, it had factory underseal about a third of the way across the floor from the sill lip inwards. The central third, the transmission / prop shaft tunnel was actually preserved by years of oil leaking & once de-greased revealed the original clean painted floor, no need for heavy dut...

Re: Ford capri 1977 3.0s resto

Glad your trip went well, its amazing how tiring constantly scanning the gauges, listening for noises & even smelling for fumes or hot brakes etc :D Strangely on a run like that I have got 30mpg out of the lazy auto in my 3.0 Ghia, at a steady 70-75mph on the speedo clock but as the sat nav says...
