Electronic ignition
Thinking of changing to electronic ignition. Looking for a bit of advice. Would it be best to change the full distributor or just change to a points module. I don't get any trouble from the points set up so not to sure if it would be beneficial to change to electronic.

Re: Antifteeze
Thanks for the detailed reply....much obliged. I drained a bit of water from the rad so i will start it up and check it out over the weekend. I dont think thete is an actual crack in the rad, it just seems to leak right across the top. I wouldn't put rad weld or anything in the system, if the rads g...

Re: Antifteeze
Thanks for the reply. I changed the cap but it's still leaking. It seems to be leaking out the top of the radiator, right along the top of the radiator. It seems to stop after the car heats up. I think I may have over filled it possibly. It certainly never leaked before i changed the antifreeze. A b...

Re: Webber carb
The 1.6 S at 90bhp was much closer to the 2.0 (100 bhp) in performance than it was to the standard 1.6 (72bhp). As others have said this is a cheap and easy way to get a few more bhp. Even fitting the 2 litre inlet manifold and carb on its own really improves things but if you couple this with the ...

Re: Bonnet trim
Thanks. I will just buy those before i take it off. That way i will be able to get the job done. The rest of the bolts feel as if they will snap anyway.

Bonnet trim
Could anyone tell me if the small bolts on the bonnet trim are fixed or if they are small nuts and bolts. I tried to take my trim off to clean some overspray and snapped one, the rest feel as if they are going to snap also. I have a mk3. I'm a bit dubious about trying anymore.

Re: Parcel shelf
Parcel shelf refurbed. I got a piece of 4x2 wood and put the parcel shelf on top of it long ways and weighted each side down with mono blocks of all things. Sorted the cracks with fibreglass. Left it sitting for a couple of days hoping it would hold it's shape. It did to a certain extent, it's a lot...

Re: Dont use your Capri all year round, they are too delicate!
I'm one of those that hates taking my capri out in the rain. I took it to a show the other week and it rained on the way back. Funnily enough when i was driving in the pouring rain it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. Maybe i should enjoy it more.

Re: Car storage
A Capri, or any other rear wheel drive, isn't much use around High Wycombe in the snow. Couldn't agree with you more Paul, when I drove the capri to sixth from everyday it was a nightmare in the snow!! Both of mine live outside on a driveway under a stormforce cover all year round, and I'll use it ...

Re: Car storage
I keep my car on the front and use it all year. Weather permitting of course! I'm actually going to be putting in my mother in laws garage this winter once I've cleared it out a bit. I'll still use it though! Hats off to you for using the car all year, i dont think i've got the bottle to do that. I...

Car storage
Out of curiosity. Does everyone keep they're precious Capri"s in a garage under a dust sheet, or on the drive outside. The reason i ask is I saw a picture of a capri in another thread sitting on a driveway covered in a blanket of snow. Does anyone use the"re cars through the winter. I woul...
