Re: Ford capri laser 2.0 or capri 2.8i ???
Ive had both - and would recommend both. Drive examples of both and see what you think. I had a 4 cylinder Capri in the 80s from when it was only about 3 years old and was very happy with it til it got damaged in a towing accident. I'd always wondered what the 2.8 was like and ended up buying an Inj...

Re: Newbeeeee .....engine size change 1.6 to2.0
Hi Bud6200 There are lots of Capris that left the factory as a 1.6 which have 2.0 engines in them. Dont let this worry you at all, its a useful upgrade. The biggest difference is probably the rear axle ratio as this was slightly different in the 2.0 to provide a higher wheel speed per engine revs. Y...

Re: My mum
I am sorry to hear of your loss Nick.
Its a few years since i lost my mum, as others have said you never stop missing her but you will get used to coping as time goes on.

Re: rear wheels fowling arches
I fear for the sanity of the previous owner who decided to buy wheels that would never safely fit a Capri without major bodywork modifications.Make sure you tell him we all think he has egg on his face. :crying: Its worth checking with Martin at Caprigear to see what decent 2nd hand wheels he has in...

Re: new record for destroying a cam?
I can sympathise as I managed to destroy a cam and followers in 10 miles flat in a 2.1 pinto i had just rebuilt for a kit car. It turned out the new sump gasket i used was marginally thinner than the one that had been on there which was just enough to narrow the gap between the shortened oil pickup ...

Re: 1973 2.6 liter for sale
Thats a very shiny 2.6 Cologne engine. It was used in US and mainland European spec Capris for many years. UK Capris had a different V6 at first then got a 2.8 version of the Cologne with fuel injection from 1981 The 4.0 V6 in the previous Mustang was actually a Cologne just with different cylinder ...

Re: 1977 Mk2 3.0 S
I used to have a Pilgrim Sumo Cobra replica with a Cologne 2.3 for a while. Frankly it wasnt the best handling Cobra replica on the planet nor was it especially quick but that may have been more down to the original builder rather than the kit. I do remember it used to eat propshaft bearings having ...

Have you looked at the X pack kits CCI do. There is a choice as their Mk2 X pack kit also fits a Mk3.
Re: bonnet
a Mk1 Facelift bonnet will fit a Mk1 pre facelift. Mk2 bonnet is wildly different from a Mk1, it might as well be off a different car altogether.
What are your thoughts here, did you want to achieve the look of the longer bulge of a Mk1 Facelift bonnet on a Mk2 bonnet ?

Could it be because the later, larger screens were bonded rather than fitted in a seal ?
