Re: Make steering easier / adding power steering
Male to female transgender, that's why I'm losing lots of strength (no more testosterone). The Corsa power steering seems like a good option though, those parts are dirt cheap. I just need a way of connecting it to the current steering rack. Will call since wreckers next year. AFAIK nobody cares abo...

Make steering easier / adding power steering
I own a 1979 mk3, I love that car and really don't want to sell it. The problem is that I'm transgender and I have lost a lot of strength in the last couple of months. Driving is fine, but parking is hellish at the moment. The car used to be a 1.6 but I replaced the engine with a 2liter one. I alrea...

Re: Project "Scorpio"
Don't think this needs any explaination, although the project is going really slow. I can only work on it on saturdays and only when nothing else comes up. https://i.imgur.com/Q4kCQQh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/uLTEQLN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jgwcQ9X.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ST1oCKT.jpg I am facing a pr...

Re: Project "Scorpio"
Long overdue for an update. Around Christmas I replaced the timing-belt and the washer. Cleaned the spark-plugs and put in a battery. The car ran right away. To make room to in the car, I simply cut the front out of the car. Kinda reminds me of Roadkill, but hey it works https://i.imgur.com/xpbxO7H....

Re: Project "Scorpio"
Time for an update. So what’s up with the Scorpio? The previous owner did a lot of work to the car. He wanted to restore it completely. The guy has done a lot of welding on the car already, also put on new break lines, a new radiator, new tires and a new timing belt. Why did he stop? He told me he d...

Project "Scorpio"
Let me first introduce myself; I am Gerard Nieborg a webdeveloper from the Netherlands. A couple of years ago I bought my first car: a Ford Capri from 1979. Last summer I did a lot of work to the car to make it pass APK (MOT), it was mostly welding, fillier, sanding and painting. The car passed, wit...

My 1.6 MK3 (Greetings from The Netherlands)
Here's a picture of my 1979 Ford Capri MK3 1.6. The car has been standing in a shed for about 10 - 15 years. I bought it last year to restore. It's my first project car (well first own car), when I saw it, I just had to buy it. At this point it does have APK (our version of MOT), runs fine (I do wan...

Capri MK3 1.6 T9 gearbox conversion
I'm assuming this has been done a lot. I bought a second hand T9 gearbox for my Capri MK3 1.6. I know the current propshaft won't fit, does anyone have the details for the propshaft I'll need for this conversion?
Thanks, Gerard
