Pinto 1.6 GT specification

Hi Gents, I know this has been covered before, and I have read many of the posts, but can someone please confirm the 1.6 Pinto GT spec, specifically the valves as I've read conflicting information about exactly what valves are used. I think it uses the following: • 2.0 camshaft - 268 degree, 1mm ext...

Re: First Capri, 1984 1.6

Hi chaps, Thought I'd post an update. Drove it for a year then put the Capri in hibernation from November to a few weeks ago, when I pulled it of the garage in the nice weather. New HT leads resolved a brief misfire it had developed, and a new fuse to sort out lack of fogs and dash light then off fo...

Re: Mk3 Capri radio wiring

Hi pbar,

Sorry yes, I should clarify - the current radio screen etc. is powered on despite key off.

I understand that a modern radio will require perm live for memory purposes, but not power screen, functions etc.

Regards

Dean

Mk3 Capri radio wiring

Hi all, My mk3 Capri has a later Ford stereo (late 80's/early 90's) fitted which seems to be permanently live. I've bought the ISO leads so I can install a modern setup but there seems to be no power. Therefore I need to get to the bottom of the wiring. The wiring at the back of the later Ford stere...

Wanted: 2.0 Pinto Injection Head

I'm after a 2.0 injection Pinto head. Can be a bare head - no cam, lifters etc. with valves would be good but not essential.

Please PM me if you have one you want to shift. I'm based in the West Midlands and can travel for the right head/price - respectfully not wanting to spend a fortune.

Thanks

Re: what are my louvres worth

You talking about a value on the rear windows louvres or headlight louvres?

Rear window louvres are available from Capri Club for £175 to non-members, so personally I wouldn't pay anymore than that (original or not) but that's just me.

Headlight louvres no idea

Re: First Capri, 1984 1.6

Thanks gents,

Love the car and will definitely be sorting the tyres. I'll probably invest in a set of Pepperpots too, always liked the look of them. :drive:

Caprigear, I've sent you a PM :D

First Capri, 1984 1.6

Hi guys, I've finally joined the Capri community by buying a Capri off my Uncle. Not a Calypso, just a non-standard paint job (originally Glacier Blue). https://s11.postimg.org/6gj28p7jn/IMG_5067.jpg Had been off the road from 1998 in a dry garage to when my Uncle acquired it in 2015. He then polybu...
