Pegasus Capri

Hi all A friend of mine is trying to locate the Pegasus Capri. It was his dad's and he's trying to find out if anything is left of it. Apparently it was badly crashed at some point, but there is rumour of it still existing. Anyone got any ideas? Image borrowed from Rods n Sods.... Cheers, Col http:/...

Re: How do I callibrate my tacho to a V8?

Sorry to resurrect a thread from the dead.... but I'm doing this same thing at the moment.

Does anyone have Colin's pictures of the job? They're just not loading on the thread for me.

Thanks!

Re: Tailgate lock removal.....

I had to buy an impact socket from Halfords (or anywhere that was cheaper). It wasn't a huge sum for a 1/2" drive 34mm. I then took an angle grinder to the walls and thinned the outside just enough to fit.... It felt terrible hacking at a brand new socket, but it was necessary. I've proudly kep...

Re: Fuel sender connections..... which is feed?

Yep, it certainly has been a while. Now older (and hopefully wiser)..... Spent a fair while follwoing Jap stuff, but never really shook the Capri bug. No longer working with Tom. I've moved on to pastures new. I swear that place is getting dangerous. They lost a lot of their staff from similar feeli...

Re: 38DGAS choke query.....what is this one?

I was thinking the same. The only thing is, it doesn't look like any of the manual conversions I've seen. Plus, when I operate the lever, nothing seems to happen. Just feels odd. Will give it a go in service and see how it works. Failing that, I have a random Solex carb to fall back on (which is ano...

38DGAS choke query.....what is this one?

Hi all. Got another query. This time, it's about a 38DGAS I've had in the garage for a while. I'm looking it trying to fit it, but it has a really strange looking choke on it. I know the 38 came in DGAS, DGMS and DGES (auto choke, manual and electric, respectively). The one I have doesn't look like ...

That's an excellent point!

I hadn't even noticed the difference in diameter until you mentioned it.

And that is why I love this forum! Problem sorted in less than 30 mins. Epic.

More random questions to come.......

Fuel sender connections..... which is feed?

Hi all It's been a VERY long time since I posted here. Used to be on here all the time a fair few years ago. I drifted away from Capris, but I've finally managed to get myself another one. As usual, it needs work! Currently stuck on trying to plumb in new fuel lines. On the fuel sender, which connec...

Hmm..... You guys got any suggestions for how to make a cheap one?

I'm looking at doing a zetec install soon, but really don't fancy the prices they charge for off-the-shelf rails.

Yeah, I've still got it. Only sold the carb manifold.

Where abouts in the world are you?

I think I also have quite a lot of the wiring loom from a 2.8 bay, if that could be of any help....no idea where it's hiding in the garage though.

Re: My First Capri - 1984 Mk3 2.0s

Well, I have quite a collection of random Capri junk.

If there's anything you need, let me know and I'll delve into the shed.

There're a few of us about in the area, so expect to see a few bobbing around (although not many are on the road yet).

Archie, Hello there and welcome! :welcome: Where abouts in East Yorkshire are you? Personally, I'm Hull. There are a few of us about out this way. There is a Leeds Capri Club and there was/is a North Yorkshire one (if memory serves?). Hope you enjoy the forum....and the car! Oh, and get some pics up...

I'm up for meets....!

Won't be in a Capri though....yet.

Preferably up North(ish).

Lincoln/Midlands area? That's a couple of hours south of me...Nice and central (ish).

Haven't managed to get to anything this year owing to unplanned rebuilding of that bloody Jag I bought.

If you're happen to be near Reading, I might be able to come and give you a hand sorting it out. And this is what the Capri forum is all about! :applaud: I posted a similar thread on the Jag forum and nobody even bothered to reply....yet here, there's an offer of real-time help! Much appreciated!!!...

Re: Struggling to start....not Capri

Did you just guess when adjusting it, or did you use a timing gun? Do you know what the timing settings are suppose to be? I'll be honesty and say...I just guessed. The engine itself was timed up and arrived ready to run. We just had to change over the distributor. We put it something like and then...

Re: Struggling to start....not Capri

OK, I spoke way too soon.....now it won't start when it's hot.

Any ideas what I've done?

I have a feeling it's a timing issue, but don't understand it at all.
