Re: A few questions for the floor.

If I remember the anti dive kit was something that fits between the front anti roll bar and the original mounting points. I think it is meant to stiffen the front end to keep it more stable in the event of heavy braking. Unless you regularly drive very enthustiastically I would not have thought it w...

Re: Spitfire - Rolls Royce - E10

Apparently the guys that brought the Lancaster Just Jane (the one at East Kirkby) back from Australia in 1965 had a cylinder head problem whilst it was still flying in the UK and they fixed it by fitting a head from a meteor tank engine on to the merlin in the Lancaster and all was good again :)

Credit card imprint machines. Remember when you used to curse the person in front of you paying by card instead of cash!

Re: Whining sort of noise....?

It's a bit scary but the half shafts are held in by only 4 small bolts. Sometimes, with bolts removed, they will come out with a good tug but, as Wayne suggests, they can be a bit stubborn and you will need a slide hammer. As an alternative I have put an old brake drum on the shaft mounted back to f...

Re: Whining sort of noise....?

If it is from one side I would say wheel bearing. You could take the half shaft out (wheel bearing is attached to it) and swap it with the other Capri and see if it goes away.

Re: Electric fuel pump

The car of mine that has this issue would quite happily drain and flatten battery after battery if I let it That is a definite problem your car has, obviously. It should only take a few seconds of cranking for the fuel to be delivered and the car to spring into action. After you have done a ton of ...

Re: Electric fuel pump

Has anyone fitted such a thing, and if so, where about and what power feed did you use? It seems to suggest out of the engine bay to prevent fuel vapour lock. Is the carb over run feed man enough for the job? For some reason, even though it never was an issue in the past, the fuel readily and fairl...

Re: Brake caliper.

Personally I would take it off, pop the piston out and give everything a good clean , it probably has years of crud in it. Really it depends if you are confident in fiddling around with it.
If you go the new route I would do both sides.
