Re: Jobs on a car that were easier than expected and jobs that were harder than expected

The second Capri I had back in about '86 needed a new clutch. Borrowed my parents drive and a good mate helped to make lifting the gearbox easier. Job went like a dream until we started up and it became apparent the motor factors had cocked up between 20 and 23 spline clutches and so we had to do it...

Re: First drive in an MG

Hi Peter Hope you guys have a lovely holiday mate. NZ looks an absolutely stunning country to visit. Some are lucky enough to live there !! 😊 Thanks guys and Nick. Yep NZ is grand so far. Have kept my eyes peeled for Mr McTool but no sightings as yet! Have spotted the odd classic, mainly souped up ...

First drive in an MG

I think the only MG I've ever been in was my Uncle's B GT when I was a kid. I always fancied one but went Capri route instead. However, this week I'm driving one. Sadly though it's an MG HS SUV hire car. It's an auto as most airport hire cars seem to be so that doesn't thrill me but the throttle is ...

Re: RS 13 INCH RIM CODING

Hello Peter , Thanks for the message. I live in Whangarei which is above Auckland. The car needs a few bits and pieces but mk1 parts are pretty rare in NZ. I also have a 66 gt mustang which I like as well. The capri is a project car , my brothers and dad have heaps of cars in Taranaki. Who knows on...

What Andrew says. They will be Capri wheels just 10 years or so younger than your car.
Nice car though. Which part of NZ, just out of interest.

Some impressive fabrication going on there, and research of course. Way beyond anything I would ever contemplate but good luck with the project.

Re: Forum social weekend 3 -5 July 2024

The field is a public camping field so anyone can contact the pub that owns it and book whatever days they want. Got it, understood, thank you Peter. It's a decent size field Paul and we've nabbed a corner away from the main hook ups not that it seems to get that busy. Here we are getting set up la...

Re: Forum social weekend 3 -5 July 2024

Forum Social Weekend? That's a much more elevated title than usual :) Are you trying to deter the riff raff. Out of interest, is camping available/allowed for all of those days, or even longer if someone wished. For example could someone set up camp and stay from the 2nd to the 6th if they wanted? ...

But what exactly is the procedure to get an account activated through a human operator (you in this case) on this site? Not too demanding on the face of it Tom: Provide a user name and email and create a password. Answer a control question which bots seem to cope with and give details of your car(s...

Have you gents also been looking at our Newest Members profiles? They're all very similar, they never post either. The car is always described slightly oddly too, hard to put a finger on, but like the current newest member, who states their Capri is a "Ford capri mk3 2.0 OHV 1980 ,black" ...
