Re: Prolblem with my Capri 2.0 pinto

When it conks out it might be worth removing the fuel pump and checking that the push rod that operates the pump still moves freely and isn't binding

What are the odds!!

As Nick may remember I have a friend from air show circles who lives in Edmonton, Canada. He stopped over in the summer for a couple of days for Flying Legends. I posted some pictures on my website a few days ago of an aircraft museum visit north of Seattle and my friend happened to check the site a...

Re: Finally my first ever Capri! 1987 2.8i Special

<r>As said above, a nice looking car <E>:)</E> <br/> <br/> On starting Andrew has posted a good guide but I would start with the warm up regulator. If you are lucky there will just be a build up of crud in the gauze filter under the larger banjo connection. More fuel should flow through here when th...

Re: Engine Swap - Pinto 1600 to Pinto 2000

Thanks. I have a 32/36 already on the 1600 so aside from changing 1 jet it's a straight swap. Do I actually need to change the servo, or will the current one be ok? Carry on as is. I had a 1600 set up on my for years as that started life as a 2.0. You might want to upgrade in the future as more pow...

Re: Engine Swap - Pinto 1600 to Pinto 2000

You seem to have most of it covered. The brakes can be left as they are, it's the servo that is different. I forget what carb you have but you want a 32/36 weber on a 2.0. If that's not what you have then you need an inlet manifold as well.

Re: 'Christmas' meet

Great idea. However, the difficulty with organising this sort of meet is that the forum members are spread all around the country and they all have work/family commitments. Trying to find a date when everyone is available combined with a location that is acceptable for everybody will be nigh on imp...

Maybe there should be two of these, a North and South, a bit like Carfest :)
Go for it. There can be as many as people want to organise :)

Re: heard it all now....

- and look - an apostrophe in the plural form of a noun!!! I`m... speechless. :D As a chap who will perhaps 'appreciate' this one I've just been reading a letter to a client from Head of Operations at Teachers' Pensions that twice says: "If you've got any queries" Clearly a grasp of grammar was not...

'Christmas' meet

Some years ago we did a couple of forum meets nearish to Christmas but then knocked it on the head due to lack of interest. Following Brooklands there seems to be a few people saying we need to meet up somewhere as we didn't get enough time to have a chat on the day. This has made me wonder if there...

Excellent pictures Peter, especially like the one taken from the banking of the sea of Capris. Good to meet you, really enjoyed the day. Had a look at the planes myself, especially liked Concorde & the Harrier. Great day, thanks for the pictures. Thanks Rob. Yes it was nice to meet you and others t...

Re: Brooklands 8.9.19

Thanks for uploading your great pics Peter. Good to see you again (albeit briefly) and with 2 Capri's; thanks again for the brake parts offer at Dunton. I wasn't willing to chance it driving up with them as they were though. :o Yes Nige, almost a brief hello. Dunton turned in to a bit more of a soc...

Re: Brooklands 8.9.19

Hi Peter, Although I didn't see much of you at Brooklands it was nice to catch up again. I really enjoyed looking through your photos and what a reminder of such a brilliant day! There were so many cars of such an incredible standard, and there was also a great variety (relatively speaking) too. Yo...

So yours was the 'other' silver one? I mentioned to my mate Mick how clean and original it looked on the day. Really nice Capri :D

Bad planning Jason. A bit of forethought and you could have done the fog lights the same colour :)

Glad to hear you are OK Paul. The first I knew about you being there was that you had gone home unwell. Would have been nice to catch up but will have to be another time. Take care.

Re: Master cylinder

Just had to check if had a 2.8 servo and I do. There's plenty on eBay but some cost a fortune which I'm sure they don't need to be. Just wondering if someone had any spare parts. Weber's need setting up end of next week so hopefully someone might have the bits I need in time. Thanks everyone for yo...

Re: A Stunning surprise from Jason

Some years ago, when we used to get a few more people to do our camping weekend we used to do a few trophies. One was called 'spirit of the Laser Page'. I think Jason would lay claims to keep it. Nice one mate, I must say I was impressed. Obviously the flypast was better but Nick deserved the runner...
