Spotted at Duxford

Spotted a nice Brookie in the car park on the way out of Duxford air show yesterday, E737. Pity I'd shut the camera in the boot by then! Is there a fellow enthusiast on here?

Sounds worrying!

Noticed this Halfords product recall on weld through primer. Obviously a precaution but it says
"If you have bought this product you are urged not to handle, touch or move it"

Re: Trouble starting when hot.

Sounds like it could be running too rich then. Next time try starting it with the accelerator flat on the floor as you crank it when warm. If it fires up more easily that tends to indicate too much fuel. As suggested above, check the float is working properly and set at the correct height. It could ...

Re: Mk3 Headlining Removal

The headlining does go under the rubber seal for the screen. You will probably get the old one out OK but to do the new one properly the screen should be out. Having said that I did my 2.8 without removing the screen but you will need to trim the lining a little and glue it and try and push the edge...

Re: headlights backing plates

What a dilemma for you Nick have them original OR paint them  They'll certainly go rusty over time if you don't paint them so I would certainly protect them in some way. Colour is up to you but you could always go for a top coat a similar colour to the current metal finish but I would prime and...

Spotted in Inverness

Second Capri in a week :)

White four pot in Inverness C641 CUV.

Followed it over the bridge in Inverness just after 11 this morning. Was sounding quite nice.
Anyone claim it?

One for Nige?

We went to a small ruined castle today. A bit off the beaten track but a couple of properties nearby. We parked up 100 yards down the road from the castle just before a house where a black lab was sitting watch us park. He waited whilst we sorted ourselves out then as we got out the car he got up an...

Re: Gift Gaff

..just bought and activated one of their SIMs.. It was a long winded process, with loads of steps, and you have to make a bloody username and create a giffgaff account which was really annoying. One, there are loads of steps, two, they use language like "high five! you have a giftgaff SIM!&quo...

Re: Applecross Pass

Beautiful. Imagine traipsing along there in the snow a few hundred years back "arrr, no carriage driver would dare make that journey in this blizzard..." what was the pub like Peter? Was it olde? The road was originally built for driving cattle. We have it easy today don't we! Not an 'old...

Applecross Pass

I'd never heard of this until this morning. Googling somewhere to drive out to as it was raining I dismissed this as the cloud was on the hills and it seemed pointless but then it dried up, the sun came out so we set off. What a road, looked much like the Alps when you see it on tv. A few miles of s...

Re: Spotted on A835

Isn't that the one owned by Jamie Mooney and featured in one of the magazines a while back? Not sure if he's still the owner, haven't spoken to him for ages. It put me in mind of that car Dave but I never saw it in the flesh, only a couple of pics. Looked in pretty good nick from my fleeting glimpse.

Spotted on A835

Somewhere around 6.45 this evening heading towards Inverness. Caught me by surprise heading the opposite way to me. Looked like a green 2.8, possibly Y plate. UHG something I think. Anyone know it? Possibly there was an event somewhere as I also saw an orange MKII Escort just before that and a coupl...

Re: Any experts on cologne engine rebuilds

Thanks peter, will do some dry install gap checks as i am sure this is the problem . If putting some precautionary sealant on, do you put it around all the orifices in the gasket where the orange seals are on the gasket, hope that makes sense Mark Hi Mark, I've not used a gasket with any orange bit...

Hi Peter. Fantastic tutorial mate. Really enjoyed reading your step by step guide. Great work there and brilliant news it has passed the mot too :applaud: I have been wondering ways to improve my brakes Peter. I want to keep the rear drums so it will have to be the fronts that I upgrade. John has h...
