Car Tax Rules
Hi People, need some advice on the current car tax situation on the Uk, as I live on the Isle of Man we have to 'import' cars from the UK, but to do this we need to put them through a test first which is akin to the 'Private Hire' test in the Uk (very stringent MOT), so we (I) need to be able to run...

Re: Brake servo removal
All Done, fitting was the opposite of removal! Bleeding done using one of those pipes with the one way valve and a lot of running round the car but I now have the best brakes she's had for a while :woot: 1st time time I've changed a complete servo and master cylinder. Also did a few bits on the dash...

Brake servo removal
Hi All, Finally got the chance to replace the brake servo and master cylinder that Martin sourced me (many thanks BTW) Everything is out/undone, with the exception of the the plastic sleeves that are holding the servo link to the pedal. Is there an easy way to dislodge these? :banghead: I've given t...

Re: Bonnet Trim Clips
All sorted thanks to caprigear, the front trim on mine just snapped off on 3 of the fixings the last one came out of the trim by moving it sideways until it un-locked.
BTW, caprigear=top man, also sorted for a servo and master cyclinder as I have no servo assist at the mo..

Re: Failure to proceed
Had the same issue with an early model Seat Ibiza, only when wet it would just start losing power, turns out there was a hairline crack in the dizzy cap.... that would be my first port of call if there was no stuttering involved..

Right guys, bear with me on this... It's that time of year again on the Island when we're invaded by 20,000+ bikers... On the plus side it does bring some changes to the roads, most noticeably the mountain stretch of the TT circuit which is de-restricted all year anyway, but for two weeks it's turne...

Re: Bad news / Good news... mostly good
Quick Tip - Standard Bicycle rear brake cable does the trick quite nicely and the cable is silicone coated so the action is lighter than the standard Ford one, I always keep a spare one in the car for 'just in case' and I've been using a bike cable for years on my daily driver..

Re: how do you tell if you have a ballasted coil
If you do a search on here for ballasted coils there's some brilliant stuff, I think what you are looking at is a supressor/condensor that keeps the electrical fizz out of the radio...
