Re: BOB Cosworth oil
Autodata says 5/40 in a hot climate, 10/40 in moderate.
I suppose it depends on how hard you will work the engine!
I'll be running 5/40 fully synthetic in the summer and may switch in the winter.. I hope that helps!

Mk1 switches?
Good evening! Is there anyone out there who can tell me what interior switches (lights, dash lights, fogs or anything else) were where in a mk1 pre-facelift capri? I'm restoring my partners 1969 mk1 1600gt, and I have the dash and a few switches but I don't know which went where! All help appreciate...

Re: My Ever Changing 1985 laser!
It would be faster if it wasn't for the great British weather!! Maybe this weekend will be better! I'm afraid it's already sold Imperial21! Whereabouts in Dorset are you? I'm quite good at spotting the local capris around Bournemouth/Poole sort of area, which seems to be getting more and more lately...

Re: My Ever Changing 1985 laser!
Good afternoon all! Another update. So today was the day of bolting it in, though I didn't get too many pictures as I was rushing before the rain! My only objective today was to get it on the engine mounts, as I no longer have anywhere to store the engine other than in the engine bay! First thing wa...

Re: My Ever Changing 1985 laser!
Thanks! It's coming along fairly well at the moment! I couldn't fit the twin fans that came with the rad as they were because there wasn't enough room, so I'll have to chop and change them a little bit. 600 got me the engine and all ancillaries, the ecu with already modified loom, flywheel, rad and ...

Re: My Ever Changing 1985 laser!
Just a quick update. Due to a few discrepancies with where I was storing my new engine, I have been forced to rush it and prepare to fit it a few weeks sooner than planned!! So today I got him on the driveway and set on getting as much as possible prepared to drop the engine in the moment it is home...

Good evening all! I have been preparing my capri ready to swap the 2.0 pinto for a 2.9 24v engine. I've basically got everything in place, thought I'd covered every Base, and today I think I've found one thing I've overlooked! It was a 2.0 pinto with 4 speed type e gearbox, and now it will be essent...

Re: WANTED 4 speed clutch release arm
I'm not too sure, I'm looking for a friend!
All I know is he has just got an Essex V6 lump with the respective 4 speed gearbox, but the clutch release arm was missing so we're trying to locate one.
Would be great if it turns out it is, much easier to find!
Thanks
Matt

Re: My Ever Changing 1985 laser!
It'll be a squeeze! I don't know if they make THAT much of a difference as I've never actually used them. However, I know that they take away a lot of that spongey feeling under the pedal due to their construction.. They don't flex as much under pressure, and they don't allow for as much expan...

Re: My Ever Changing 1985 laser!
That's what I was thinking!! :-S It shouldn't be too bad, the person I bought the engine from has already done the repinning of the ecu or whatever it is he's done, I wouldn't have had a clue with that!! And as for wiring all that actually to the car, Its all been rolled up and labeled in a way that...
