Re: RIP Paul O'Grady

He will be greatly missed and brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people. His work with dogs was excellent and made very good TV - showing his real love of animals.

RIP.

Re: Ford to re-launch Capri!

Another SUV retro electric milk float. An insult to the Capri name and all the original car's dedicated owners and lovers worldwide.

As Nemo said, please God it's not true.

Re: Some photos my Grandfather took during ww2

Both my mum's and my dad's fathers were in ww1. My maternal grandfather was in the merchant navy on Atlantic convoy work to Canada mainly. I still have his seaman's chest and medals. My paternal grandfather was in the Kings Royal Shropshire Light Infantry (he was a Shropshire lad) and was invalided ...

Re: Contact breaker points gap

My original 1969 Ford workshop manual states it has a `Ford distributor and spark plugs` which I guess is Motorcraft (no Bosch) and it gives one figure for gap, .025" Same as the Motorcraft in later models. If you change the gap even slightly you will change the timing quite a lot which may ma...

Re: SImoniz Chrome Cleaner

Nick, I know your car shines like a bald man's bonce but please only use the brake cleaner on the frigging brakes. Putting Simoniz or any other brand of polish on them is not recommended!! :applaud:

Re: SImoniz Chrome Cleaner

I would have said sixties and sevenies. I used to use it to polish the chrome on dad's Rover 2000 when I were a lad. There was a liquid polish in a similar tin I think too.

Re: CAPRI TURBO TAIL

Went for £530. That would buy the parts for a poor man's rebuild of the engine and gearbox. Or an LSD. Or a Holiday for a fortnight somewhere hot. Or two month's f**king council tax!

Re: Remove Caliper - Fluid Loss

Well I stand corrected but I've still never had success with that method. Not much use on a master cylinder reservoir cap with a fluid level indicator I would have thought,

Re: How much

It's funny but of all the cars I've had my two favourites are firstly my Skoda Fabia VRS mk1. Magic little diesel with 130 bhp but more torque than most V8's. I bought it new in 2005 and sold it to a mate in 2012 when I bought my Octavia VRS estate. My mate still has it and it's now got 120,000 and ...

Re: How much

Bloody hell, you could buy a detached house for that even here in Buckinghamshire. Or buy the whole of Wales! (light blue touch paper and stand back 20 feet!) Probably not far off the truth, Paul! When you sold yours for £14K, did you think the market for them had flatlined then? If only you ...

I sold my Cossie in 1990 for £14K.

Re: Remove Caliper - Fluid Loss

I always thought the usual method of preventing fluid loss when removing a caliper, etc. was to clamp the flexi brake hose, but I've read online that all you need to do is wedge the brake pedal half way down, as this places the master cylinder seal past the port and no fluid will be lost. It's like ...

Re: Cologne track widths

I would not buy an electric car in as long as my bum hole points downwards. Fuck them. I will be 68 in 2030 when these hateful glorified milk floats become compulsory so I plan that in around 2028 I will buy a brand new petrol car and hopefully that will see my driving days out. Or I might not bothe...
