Re: Postimage problems

On Capri power there is a comment about this and it says

right click then open in new tab
Overtype.org with .cc
Enter
Share - hotlinks for forums and replace URL code.

This means nothing to me but perhaps it might to one of you.

Postimage problems

Some of the older photos posted using postimage have disappeared. The problem is that they seem to have changed from photoimage.org to photoimage.cc or something. I have the computer brains and ability of a halfwitted snail so I wondered if anyone can find a fix?

I bought it from Mr "Barnowl" last year and it's staying exactly standard and in its original colour as I've never seen another "S" in Pine Green.

Re: No MOT.....

Not good. There's too many people with classic cars that aren't mechanically competent enough to judge if something is safe or not.

Cars ought to have the basics checked annually by someone competent even if it's just brakes, steering, suspension and rust.

Re: Colour coded bumpers?

:agree: I've also painted the headlight surrounds and grille black as looking at the pictures of Nick's I personally liked it more. Nothing irreversable if someone wants it stock though! The only 80's ford that looked better with colour-coded bumpers was the 87-89 years Mk2 Fiesta Populars. They did...

Re: Car feels weird

I think people just like hating on lasers for some reason :agree: This story of cars being the last on the production line getting all sorts of crap fitted to them is a myth! I'm glad you posted that , it's good to know :) I've said something similar on another thread. If Ford changed manufacturing...

Re: Sad geek needing answer to daft question

Looking at the colour of the pipes in my blurry photo I would say use BMC engine green paint for the fronts and Ford pine green for the rears if you want to be really exact with the originals!

Re: Furry spark plug

Off with the distributor cap & check the copper/alloy segment for #3 lead is in good condition - scraping clean if claggy should help but new cap is best, also check the shaft for sideways wobbles - badly worn can give a poor spark for one plug. If no improvement then just fit one new plug in #...

Re: Sad geek needing answer to daft question

Re the brake pipes there are two different shades of green used. The one running to the rear brakes is a slightly brighter shade of green to the sort of Olive green on the front circuit pipes. I've taken a pic of mine but the light is bad and it's blurry but it does show the colours.t https://s17.po...

Re: New WD40 aerosols

Working at home I tend to use the 400ML large Trade Pack aerosols, but they still have the problem of the elastic band rotting through and the pipe being lost. I used to use the 5 litre cans at work but I did find that the trigger bottles soon packed up or went wrong and you would squeeze the trigge...

Would a large ball joint rubber cover do the job? You can buy just the covers from most motor factors or from the dreaded ebay.

Re: Car feels weird lol

I agree with Rob about the possible leaf spring problem. Further it could be a problem with bushing, either spring rear shackle or on the anti -roll bar.

Are your rear tyres a matching pair?

Could possibly be a problem developing with the instrument panel circuit board or a poor earth wire to it.

Re: Pinto engine change recomdations?

Thinking more carefully about it, Transit blocks were usually stamped "202". It could be a case that someone had stuck a Sierra engine in the Transit. If you whip the head off you will see if it's got flat top pistons and measure the valve head diameters to see if they match Sierra dimenti...

Re: Pinto engine change recomdations?

The Transit engine is a low compression engine and wouldn't have much more go than a good 1.6. It will be torqey though. The cam in them is basically a 1.6 cam. Transit 2 litre blocks can be rebored and fitted with normal 2.0 pistons and fitted with a 2.0 head, cam, manifolds and 32/36 carb to make ...
