Re: Any thoughts on the new Ford Capri idea

I say leave the legend of the Capri in the annals of history. The same applies to the Sierra, Granada, Escort, Cortina, Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac and all the other legendary names. If Ford want to bring out a new sports coupe (which I doubt will happen anyway with them cutting car production in the ...

I notice he`s holding the tailgate up so it looks like it`ll need new struts.
Probably plus a new tailgate and repairs to the roof where the hinges bolt on!

Re: Steering wheel colour

Hi all, Does anybody know what colour die is needed for a laser steering wheel and where I could get it as mine is looking a bit grubby and thought with the car being off the road it would be a good time to do those little jobs. Cheers Allan. I used this one in the link below, Wakesons Dark Grey le...

Re: Ford Sierra £80k.!!

I paid £11,500 for mine when it was 2 years old. Wish I still had it but, like a lot of them, it was nicked after I'd had it for 2 months!

I think I remember a RS500 selling for more than this one.

Point taken Paul. Perhaps someone on here has an intact used one that you could copy. It could be a little business if you can exactly copy them and knock a few out to sell.

I assume you want to make a new one? Is it worth all the hassle when you can get a new one for a fiver from Webcon?

Re: Rear No plate

These really are a hateful design. The clips push into the panel then as the screw is tightened the rivenut type thing in the plastic pulls up and "spreads the legs" of the clip, securing it in the panel. Unfortunately the screw then rusts into the rivenut and will not come undone. I struggled for a...

Re: Rear Creaking & big knocking over bumps

If the shackles are OK, I'd jack the rear up with the axle hanging and check the springs themselves for any fractures etc. Also give them a good wire brushing and possibly a coat of WD40 just to eliminate "stiction" ie friction causing the leaves to stick to each other when they should be able move ...

Re: I sold a car almost 2 years ago and its never been picked up.

If you have an address for the purchaser could you send him a formal letter, preferably by recorded delivery, telling him that if he doesn't collect the vehicle within a certain time then it will be sold for scrap. Send him the same letter by email just to make sure he gets the picture. Leaving it w...

Re: plugs

Having almost 250,000 miles on the clock says how good those engines are. I doubt many Fiestas have done that on an original engine.
