Pinto idle servo acting up

Hello! Ford Sierra with 2.0 pinto with weber carb, problem is, that now at winter car starts and runs fine, if I press the gas strongly then the idle servo moves all the way out and car idle rpms are really high, like 3 to 4k. Choke is working fine. When I re-start the car, servo moves back in on it...

Re: Pinto engine low rpm running problem

UPDATE: Pluged brake air hose, no result. So thats out of question. Looks like I will need to undo air manifold to check gasket. But with starter fluid I found no leaks :?: Could valve regulating help? Dont know if this is the right term for that

Pinto engine low rpm running problem

Hello, need some help with car trouble. Got a MK2 Sierra, changed engine from pinto to EFI pinto, that I converted back to carb. It was running fine, but suddenly its running rough while idle. Re: Pinto not starting

I think I found my problem- ignition amp is on only with starter, though I fixed it, but something went wrong. So my question to you is: If I plug my dizzy and spin it with hands, should the main wire spark? [If Ignition on] Because it sparks when starter is turning, trying to test if I have ignitio...

Re: Pinto not starting

Now thinking about this I come to conclusion that it might be: *Bad ground on engine *Not enough fuel after initial start What are your thoughts? One more thing, I have to refill my cooling liquid now, not much like a glass, is it normal? [Engine was empty, got it filed initially, now like 3 times a...

Re: Pinto not starting

Ok, rewire spark, so its on with +12fom battery but still the same, engine only works for few secs. I think I got the timing about right now, but the issue remains, that it only works for few secs after I release starter, could this be fuel related? Like not enough fuel is getting to car so it dies?

Re: Pinto not starting

UPDATE: Been working on this for like 4 hours now, got it to start for few seconds, like, I release starter motor works few secs but if starter is spinning engine works great, suspecting that I have some electronics wrong, like spark is only with starter, so gonna try rewire it now... :headscratch: ...

Pinto no spark

Hello, I'm new here.. Got a 1987 Ford Sierra with carbs, engine died so I went for a Pinto EFI, got the engine in all wired up, but the strange thing is that I have no spark. There is spark only when I disconnect my ECU and the spark amplifier [6/7pin little black box mounted to a heatsink] runs alo...
