Re: Lock down jobs...

I've had exactly the same thing with the door seals. Only manged to get a chance to sort it during the lockdown. I ended up cutting the bottom run with a stanley blade. Still seems to seal ok and door now closes properly with a bit of a push (i used to have to really slam it to get it to close, no g...

Re: Alternator bearings replacement

Cheers for the comments guys, it was a job i was pondering for a while but wasnt sure on difficulty etc. As long as it makes the job easier for someone else, i'm happy.

Alternator bearings replacement

Hi guys, I've not seen a thread on this before so thought i'd share it with you all as its a nice easy job to do, doesn't take much time to complete and can save you around £40. Fast forward to the end for the bearings that i needed and the part number of my alternator. A little while ago i'd notice...

Re: Information on previous owners of D745 0DM

This was something i tried to do last year but the dvla declined my request due to data protection or something :/ they said that me wanting to know the history of my capri was not a good enough reason to get information on any previous owners  I would be interested to hear how anyone else man...

Re: Sunroof woes

Bit of an update then, I had a look through the haynes manual and i adjusted the bits at the back in order to raise it. Without the seal on it didnt really seem to make any difference. I put the seal back on and tried again. Martin is right, them seals are naff, makes it very difficult to tilt the s...

Re: Sunroof woes

It certainly does seem to be a bit of a dark art. Finding the time is a problem but i have had it in and out a fair few times over the last couple of weeks.

I shall soldier on, then if i am ever passing by tickover i will definitely drop in and get them to sort it. :xd:

Sunroof woes

Hi guys, Unfortunately ive got dreaded sunroof problems. The sunroof always operated correctly untill i had the bodywork done last year. The guys that took it out didnt mark anything up and subsequently didnt put it back together properly so now when the roof slides back to its closed position, it d...

Hi Guys, Looking to sell off some bits from my MK3. I've got; Full laser interior - passenger and rear seat in good condition, drivers seat is badly torn but material could be good for spares. Door cards are in great nick, not sure if the speakers work though. Front recaro seats - these are from a f...

Re: Searching for car history

Also, I've just been on that cazana. When I put my reg plate in it came up with pictures of my car when it was sold to the person I bought it off! It says for £15 I can get all the history in case dvla knock me back so that's good :)

Re: Searching for car history

Well, I sent off the form on Monday. I had attached a covering letter stating how this information could have a measurable impact on the value of the vehicle, this being the reason for my request. On the form I had to leave my number so I would've thought if they couldn't do it I would have heard so...

Re: Searching for car history

It does seem to depend who you speak to. The first time i rang the DVLA about it, the woman basically said theres no way they do anything like that, but when i rang today the guy said to send the form in with a cheque for £5 and then jobs a good 'un! Might just have to exaggerate my reasons a bit, s...

Re: Searching for car history

Ahh thanks for the link, pretty sure that was the form i asked the dvla about when they said "due to data protection they couldnt tell me anything" but will try ringing again.

What kind of info did you get from them?

Thanks
Rob

Re: Seat retrimming, rough price?

That does sound like a bloody good price, part of me was expecting into the thousands  as it happens yesterday i picked up a couple of old recaros from a sierra or escort or something. material on them actually looks pretty decent so might try just retrim the rear to match ;) i'll look around...

Seat retrimming, rough price?

Hi guys, just curious how much someone would likely charge for all seats to be re-covered in a non standard material? The drivers seat in my laser is pretty shocking at the moment and tbh, i've never really been a fan of the laser interior so i'm hoping to maybe get the seats recovered in black. pre...

Re: Cooling (2.0 pinto)

Also, is it normal for water to pour out the top of the rad with th...
