Re: Capri Gear

Thanks for the reply.
Being the donut I am, it was the Capri club site I couldn't get on and have now seen others saying it's not working correctly.
Cheers.

3.0 Essex v6

Hello Ladies and Mentalmen, I'm after a project to put together over the next few years to eventually drop into my 2.8. I'm looking for either a nearly complete engine or at least a complete block with pistons, crank etc. If anyone has this stuff knocking about, it doesn't need to be perfect, just s...

Re: 2.8i Temperature sender housing.

Thanks Andrew, it was annoying me I could even find an image of one on Google, let alone a replacement!
I'll begin the search for a replacement again.

Thanks again!

2.8i Temperature sender housing.

Hi Ladies and Mentalmen, so I've stripped my engine down for a good overhaul over the winter. I've started cleaning some of the parts up and finding replacements for things that I'm not willing to put back on next year. I've hit a small snag though! The temperature sender housing (the best thing I c...

Re: Metering head

More photos up on http://s593.photobucket.com/user/gmegan87/library/?sort=3&page=1 , it's looking good, I also spoke to the lads in the garage, they said everything was going well after our efforts, but the metering head was just weeping fuel, so I will wait cross fingers and hope the WUR can wa...

Re: Metering head

Just a quick update, I've finished stripping the metering head down now (taking lots of photos for references) and other than some tired seals and o-rings everything looks pretty good! I found a service kit for this for a little under £70, so if all goes well, I will have saved myself a pretty penny...

Re: Metering head

Thanks for that information MattMe! It's handy to know, but I rang my friend to ask why specifically the metering head needed to be refurbished. It turns out I missed a bit! When the micro filters were changed it did solve the fueling issue, so we now have fuel getting to all the injectors, but it's...

Re: Metering head

Well, I'm Newbury, Berkshire. The car is in the next town over (Thatcham). Would a faulty warm up regulator cause fuel not to reach an injector though? I have to say, I thought it might be the cause, as it doesn't start popping and banging until it's warmed up. However, when I drove it, it was under...

Metering head

Ok, so I'll start from the beginning! My 2.8i has been sat around having work done to it for about a year and a half, at some periods, going months without been run. I got it back from the sprayers and noticed it had developed a misfire. So started small and did the leads and plugs, gave it an oil a...

Re: 2.8i metering unit

It's actually at a friends garage getting ready for an Mot, I I haven't had a chance to look at it myself. He is a keen Ford guy though and as he is knocking on retirement, he was a young man when they were in circulation. So I do trust him, but perhaps he doesn't know everything :D All he said was ...

Re: Lights, fuses and a bonnet

That's a very informative read, thanks for the link!
It seems other things wouldn't be coming on if it was a fuse that had failed. I'll clean them anyway, but I'll have to look elsewhere

Lights, fuses and a bonnet

Hi guys, So under going a deep overhaul of my 2.8i. I took the bonnet off last year and haven't gotten around to fitting it correctly, I can't seem to get it line up properly now. Is there a method to the maddness or just a matter of trial and error? Also having replaced all the bulbs, when testing ...
