Re: Fuel gauge not working!!!!!
OK, so it seems I get 5v if I connect a voltmeter between both the fuel tank contacts, but if I put the multimeter between the + wire and the earth point on the sender, I get nothing. What does this tell me?

Re: Fuel gauge not working!!!!!
5v at the sender connector, so I guess that also says the regulator is working fine.

Fuel gauge not working!!!!!
My fuel gauge doesn't work. The temperature gauge does work, so I think that rules out a 7805 voltage regulator There is fuel in the car (Duhh!!) Shorting out the sender wires does not make the gauge read full; it still doesn't move at all I have also cleaned and changed the sender connectors...

Re: Just a few questions.....
And can anyone advise on which wires are what for the radio? I know the two pairs of brown and red wires are the LH and RH speakers, and the red wire comes from the ignition switch on the column. Then there's that white wire coming from behind the glove box, from the LH side of the dash; is this for...

Re: Nice car, V5, but no service history really an issue???
On buying a 30 year old car surely condition has to be the no1 important thing. I have service history for my Laser but not for my 3.0S and both have only had 4 owners including me. I will try to contact the previous owners of the S to see if any of them still have anything but I feel it's more imp...

Nice car, V5, but no service history really an issue???
Earlier this year I bought a 1986 2.0 Laser. It is very solid, clean, tidy, has been resprayed its original diamond white recently and, despite the front brakes needing servicing and the engine needing a tune up, I am very happy with it. They only thing is it has no paperwork or service history, jus...

Re: WANTED: Steering intermediate shaft/coupling
Thanks guys. All sorted now, bought a used one as its just the UJ I need for a custom jobbie, so its would have been a waste if I bought a new one to cut anyway.

WANTED: Steering intermediate shaft/coupling
Its the short shaft which goes between the column and the rack I am after. Used is fine, as long as the UJ's don't have play. PM me if you have one.

What grease for 2.8 strut inserts?
Hello all.
I need to find out what sort of grease to put in my struts with my new bilstein inserts. There's red goo in there at the moment. Is this just conventional red rubber grease? Also, are strut wiper seals an MOT requirement?
