Re: black jps wanted

Can you pm me a photo of the VIN and paint tags please. I want to see what they say on them and what they look like. Thanks.

Is this a real JPS 3.0?

Hi Guys, I have just about bought the attached JPS. But there are some issues verifying it's authenticity. See video attached. https://youtu.be/wuJwcCLhIXE wuJwcCLhIXE 1. It does not have the 'JP SPECIAL' Paint code tag - it says R BLACK S BLK suggesting it is a CAPRI S made after the end of the rea...

Re: My Brooklands from several 'different' perspective

We call 'beer towels' bar mats. And yes i had thought of that but could not find a plain black one, and while looking, i came across non fray plastic backed auto carpet for a great price.... Perfect.
I first made a template from paper and starting a rough cut. Then sized to fit.

Re: My Brooklands from several 'different' perspective

Thanks for the comments guys. I know of 2 other 280s in Australia, so i am not alone. The dash has been taken care of with a black dash mat that i made. Works really well. This car is so clean underneath i am never wanting to drive it on wet dirty roads, so you could say it's semi retired and just c...

Re: My Capri 280 in Oz

You are exactly right. The Mark 1 was made/assembled here, but no mark 2 or 3 were imported or sold. The only way to get one is privately import - or find one that already has been. People seem to think I have an escort  When I say I have a Capri, I also have to say it's not the convertible ve...

Re: My Capri 280 in Oz

Thanks Andrew. The page will be very dynamic as things happen and it was fun to do. It will help me keep track of when repairs, mods and servicing were done. Easy to forget after several years. I also created it for people in Australia that do not know what this car is. Many don't.

My Capri 280 in Oz

For those interested, I have started documenting Brooke's history as of her arrival in Australia. This will be a documented history of the retirement to Queensland.

The Capri 280 has been here now for a week. Here the 280 is conveniently beside a container like the one it arrived in. Fun fun fun.

Re: Capri 2.8i not starting

Problem solved. Air lock in the fuel lines to the metering unit. Bled air out and fuel flow fixed. Car starts. Likely caused by low tank fuel level and motion and time during shipping. Also more likely due to tow truck drivers trying to start the car with low fuel and car at unusual angles on truck.

Re: Capri 2.8i not starting

Tomorrow we are going to check fuel flow and spark, but I now have a sneaky feeling about condensation/moisture in the distributor after the quarantine steam clean!

Cross fingers for a good start tomorrow.

Capri 2.8i not starting

I have just shipped a Mark 3 2.8i into Australia and it is at the workshops for road compliance work. But, it wont start. It was driven onto the tow truck in the UK 7-8 weeks ago, so I know it was working. It has a Taurus 1000 immobiliser system. The engine will only crank after this has been succes...
