Well done especially the MOT pass

Sad to hear you struggled with getting a respray, but maybe I shouldn't be surprised :?

Re: Car cover or don't cover

I agree with Paul alot of it depends on quality of repaint and laquers etc, basically if you buy a cover you take your chance :? I think on red, black and darker colours you will always notice issues that you might not see on white and silver etc. I don't cover mine in the garage with sheets anymore...

Great pics again John :) OLE still looking good  I still remember seeing it forsale online when it had 19k miles on it and the price it was advertised for :) I do like an old Triumph and the Rover P6. I had Stag back in 2003, my first taste of classics although it was a pretty unreliable piece...

Re: Car cover or don't cover

Hi, Many people would rather give the car a good polish/ceramic coating and leave it out in the elements. In the past I have used Stormforce outdoor covers on a few cars and only one car I had issues. On my black Capri I would get white areas (looked like clouds) in the paint especially along the sw...

Re: Who Remembers?

It is the law at Christmas to have a TV guide for the holiday period, the TV Times has always been the one for our household, as a child and also now, Christmas wouldn't be the same without it. The one below is from 1985, Minder appeared on the 1988 cover too. https://ukchristmastv.weebly.com/uploa...

A majority of those cars are now tax exempt, and assuming they are insured all year around it's much better for just getting out when they want  I agree there is something about Inkys tow truck :) You don't see too many early Sierras about, I reckon I have a rare beast ...

£53 in 1978 is equivalent to £311 today, according to the B of E inflation claculator.

Andrew.
That's still cheap Andrew, I wonder how good it really was or if there were other hidden costs :headscratch:

Good find Nick

Less than 10% vat :D

The average weekly wage then was just under £100 a week, so although the respray sounds cheap it was still alot of money for many back then!
