Re: Nice Ride height

This is mine, 2 inch blocks and 2inch lower springs, don't have too many issues, just got to watch speed bumps and turning left with a lot of lock onto drives or forecourts where they slope up. Even then just occasionally get a sligit rub sound, nothing much. I like the way it looks, but appreciate ...

Indeed, the plagiaristic generation, cut and paste homework from the Internet!

I just worry that it`s becoming a substitute for `proper` rounded education..... It really does worry me.

Re: lightening strikes

Hi. Mum and Dad are up in Northumberland this week on a Sun caravan holiday deal. Today they visited Bamburgh Castle. On the way home they were in the middle of an almighty storm. My parents said that the fork lightening was the worst (or best if you are a storm chaser :) ) they had ever seen. I ca...

Re: BT

You should be able to keep your BT Email address for a fee, I think it was about £1.50/month. I Suppose it depends how important it is to you whether it is worth the expense. I don't work for BT, but I am a telecoms engineer, and trust me, having to deal with the many other suppliers my various cust...

Re: 2.8 injection overheating on Tickover and when standing in traffick

One other very simple thing it could be, is your tick over speed too low? Mine was ticking over at about 550rpm and would get hot, just adjusted the bypass screw so it is now on the lower dot, about 750rpm, and is fine now. Guess at too low a speed the water is not circulating properly. Worth checki...

Re: help needed with front wipers

A mate had a similar problem where the wiper fuse would blow after a short while, the motor was running slowly, check that the wire that goes to the rear gas strut on the near side isn't shorting out somewhere round the tailgate as that is what was causing his problem. Good luck, electrical gremlins...

Re: clay bars

I use clay bars more on glass, my car is heavily polished so I don't get any results as said it's more for paint contaminants, i don't get on with autoglym stuff, it's too dusty, i use Farecla wax top, my god that stuff is great, especially on dark coloured cars but it's good on everything I've tri...

Re: Another New Member

Hmm, so it is more than possible that the tale about the Huddersfield car could be true, judging by the HMRC ruling, the suits don't much like LC's, so much for being enviromentaly friendly, guess if they can't get their cut in the deal, no one benifits. Yeah I have a 2.8, 1984 non special, my intro...

Re: Another New Member

This happened at a garage in Huddersfield. A LC was delivered late one evening, but did not have the right documents to actually be at the dealers, but the official bloke was going the next day to sort it out. As it had arrived late, it had been parked up just inside the workshop entrance, when the ...

Welcome, from another recent joiner! Like the line up of cars you have, always had a soft spot for Lotus Carltons, have a very long story about a brand new one, never even registered which was crushed due to red tape......... Never had a Lotus myself but did have a 3.0L manual CDX estate, quite quic...

Watched the Roger Albert Clark coverage last night. Very nice car you have there, do like black, just a bugger to keep looking good.

Can Vouch for the Janspeed. great addition to the 2.8 sound track.

Just ask my wife, she says I'm a big kid as I can't resist dropping a gear or two going through the A64M tunnels in Leeds.

Meant to say, the arches are rolled! No way the tyres would fit otherwise. Bust head light bent front panel and lower wing, had a walk ba...
