Re: ESRT32PS - cassette works, radio doesn't - any suggestions?
So one is for adjusting the base , then the other is fine tuning the radio but very common problem with the radio not working and display . I have one at home that one day I might get around to fixing as it has the same problem . Also the double fm ones have a different belt fitted . Cheers, I knew...

ESRT32PS - cassette works, radio doesn't - any suggestions?
These wretched things again... https://i.postimg.cc/y8LVCPXX/ujB7fJp.jpg The bottom one, with the double FM buttons works fine. Top one, however, cassette works perfectly fine, radio will not work. It either gets static or nothing at all, doesn't display any numbers on the digital screen, only the p...

[WANTED] 2.8 rear anti roll bar
As title says, I am after a 2.8 rear anti roll bar.
Ideally need it as soon as possible, willing to pay postage or pick up if not too far from King's Lynn, Norfolk.
Thanks
Liam

Re: Convertible 3:0ltr
Normally I see a convertible Capri and instantly dislike it (with the exception of a well-done Mk1), but I actually don't mind this. There's something about it that just makes it look good, makes it work, maybe it's the paint, or the body kit, or the chrome wing mirrors, or the spoiler. I'm not too ...

Re: Testing the waters - 1987 Ford Capri Laser 2.0 in Regency Red [PICTURE HEAVY]
Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you've decided to sell your car. Regency red is an unusual colour for a Capri, but it is gorgeous. Good luck with the sale. Andrew. I'm not 100% on it, but I don't think I can afford to keep it really. I'd rather not end up running it into the ground, would prefer someone...

SALE:Testing the waters - 1987 Ford Capri Laser 2.0 in Regency Red [PICTURE HEAVY]
Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can afford to keep the Capri. I need something that's cheaper to run on a daily basis, and isn't going to get ruined by day-to-day driving and the typical British weather during the winter. Therefore, I'm putting this up. I'm only half decided on selling, but I do have ...

The 1.4 couldn't pull your trousers down..... Wor lass got one as a courtesy car and even she hated its slowness. In fact, I'd forget diesel altogether and go 1.0 Ecoboost. Same economy but with a nice noise and plenty of go. I'm not after huge amounts of power, just a little runaround is all I wan...

Re: This recent talk of clowns on the road. Had my own encounter today. Clown was in a lorry.
Ehh, well I get it from their point of view. I still don't get why if it's found not to be someone's fault, why their insurance still increases, especially if they never claimed, it's not like they've cost the insurance anything whatsoever. Either way, live and learn I suppose :). Next time somethin...

Hi, Even if I don't go through with the claim? I think you'll find that the insurance company will consider you more of a risk as a result of this incident. As an experiment, have a play on a comparison website. Enter details with no incident, then add the incident with no claim and see if it affec...

I don`t understand, I thought if at the end of the day you are found to be the innocent party all your NCD etc is restored? Surely they can`t penalise you for a no blame accident? (I have a feeling this is my naivety coming into play....) Hi, With the greatest of respect to the OP, I would be amaze...

Re: This recent talk of clowns on the road. Had my own encounter today. Clown was in a lorry.
I would try and get it repaired on your own as your excess is possibly more than the repair....? Yeah, that's my thinking. I'm going to look at quotes either way. and have 3 year's no claims (unprotected), so losing that would double next year's premium Hi, Realistically, I would fully expect the i...

Re: This recent talk of clowns on the road. Had my own encounter today. Clown was in a lorry.
A little update. I've called my insurance, haven't contacted the company, as advised not to by MSInjection and my insurance company. My insurance tried to put it through as a no-fault claim straight away as I was completely stopped at the time of the collision, but the liability company wouldn't acc...

Re: This recent talk of clowns on the road. Had my own encounter today. Clown was in a lorry.
Hi Liam, Sorry to hear this, a classic case of another :wank: intimidating other road users with the size of his vehicle. Call his company first they may want to sort it out..... if that fails call your Insurance and explain everything and give Mr :wank: details and they should sort the rest. Keep ...

This recent talk of clowns on the road. Had my own encounter today. Clown was in a lorry.
On my way to work, there's a roundabout, with two lanes going straight over, everyone always queues in the left lane, so I simply go past everyone and into the right lane. Exiting the roundabout, the two lanes merge into one after about 50m. I was quite happily merging behind a silver Audi, and in f...

Re: overheating in traffic
Has the system been flushed and refilled? When I first got my Capri, it was fine the whole 230 miles home, but then about a week later, first time sitting in traffic with it (bloody caravans going to the coast!), I had the exact same as you are now having. Turned out there was a lot of air in the co...

Re: My 1987 Laser 2.0 Daily Driver
Hi, That's a beautiful colour, it really suits the shape of the Capri. It's good to see somebody getting so much use out of their classic car. You're braver than I am with mine! :D All the best, Andrew. Thanks :), I was unsure of the colour at first, but when I viewed it, I actually really liked it...

Have a look in my "2.0S Daily driver" thread, all my pics are in there. And that's just the drivers side. To be fair, i've had mine out in all weathers for 6 years nearly so it's not too surprising. Oh wow, I hope mine isn't as bad as that :/. How much did all the work cost you, if you do...

Re: changing the throttle cable
Might be different on the 2.8 models, but I did the throttle cable on my 2.0 at the weekend, didn't need to take the servo/master cylinder off. Long screwdriver enabled me to unscrew the cable sheath and reattach it easily enough. Just thinking it might save you the hassle, if you can spot the leak ...

Re: My 1987 Laser 2.0 Daily Driver
Hi Liam, That's a great car you have there. I wouldn't say you need to get it resprayed, it just needs a bit of tidying up in places. If it was my car I would get the areas underneath sorted first then get it waxoyled to prevent any further rust occurring. Not too sure how much it would cost, it wo...

Re: My 1987 Laser 2.0 Daily Driver
I just feel I'm putting far too many miles on it! If I get it welded and fully resprayed, I'm going to get another car to use as my daily, and then keep for special days out and sunny weekends. Either that, or sell it without respraying and then keep en eye out for a Mk2 3.0, as that's what I ideall...
