Re: Who Remembers?

My mother in law still uses one of those Ewbank things. Never seen a Hoover Constellation, the forerunner to the red Henry vacuum? :D

Re: Queen Square January 2018

Hi Andrew, what a brilliant morning out, great to catch up mate. I've got to say it's an amazing car meet whatever you're into. As your pictures show, there's plenty of classics if that's your thing & some amazing rare new cars too. Probably won't see a Bristol Fighter again, not my favourite ca...

Re: Ford capri 1977 3.0s resto

The car looks fantastic all striped up. A top job, a stunner of a 3.0S. Although the brochure shows the sills as black, I prefer the look of yours being body colour, the car actually looks lower & sportier for it. Glad you're now out & enjoying it.

Re: Daewoo

Remember seeing a few Astra clone Nexia's on the road, as you said, they came from nowhere & now seem to have gone back there :) . Here's one for sale, but it's in Bangalore.. Deluxe model though, so definitely worth saving ;)

Great looking Capri's, amazing that these low mile cars keep surfacing. Just as amazing prices too as Paul said :o , it was only a few short years back that outstanding 280's were surprising everyone at this price. Want them both

Re: I like......

I can not wait for the Capri . And as a audience we will be the most picky. :agree: Having seen it in the metal, it looks a real eye full & the proportions are great. The side pipes are silly & I'm not keen on the grille but the quality & engine conversion are top notch. They probably m...

Re: I like......

Enjoyed the show. They did a quality job on the Escort, personally I'd have liked it in its original orange plus sport stripes ( I know that wasn't the point ) everything else I'd be more than happy to have. Got to take your hat off to anyone trying to make a business from doing this work as they're...

Re: Simply Ford Beaulieu 2018

A Mk2 RS in Performance Blue  That Volvo engine is great. Think that's my favourite RS Focus combination, the MK2 has the right amount of everything IMO, there's a good buying guide feature in last months EVO magazine, they rate the car highly, especially the engine. Nice modern Fast :ford: .

Re: Simply Ford Beaulieu 2018

The trouble is at Simply Ford, the more exhibitors they have the more money the organisers make from the entrance fees. That's why they'll never stop the newer cars from going. I think that's a shame for the visitors as allowing all Fords to go makes the show too big, and it's very difficult, if no...

Got a lot on this year but would like to go, especially if forum guys are up for it. Plan on going to CCI ( actually in my Capri this year ) so May is out but I'll check shifts etc, looks a good meet.

Re: Who Remembers?

Later on about 15 years old, I would write my own sick notes and forge the old mans signature  Reminds me of the scene in Please Sir, where one of the kids did something similar to go on the school trip. I remember a kid in our class doing his own absent note, it was scrawled on a messy bit of...

Re: Mr G

That dirt has probably accumulated from 1989, so worth more  You're probably right, anything '80s is hot right now :D From what I understand from the advert, Dr B isn't actually selling the car, merely listing it for it's current owner. Thus, he can be excused for the car not being up to his u...

Re: Mr G

Oh go on then, I'll take it. Although I think Dr B needs a lesson on how to detail the engine bay from Andrew & Nick, the paint may be shiny but I wouldn't want to open the bonnet if parked next to our forum friends, especially if I'd just paid over £30k for it.
Nice car though.

I didn't see it, but apparently she mentioned the rising prices of 280's & the lack of sunroof handles in her speech on Christmas Day.

The original 1974 Gone in 60 seconds is real 'cheesy' too, but a nice Mach 1 Mustang

Yes, good car movie, watched this the other day, the whole car chase is on YouTube. Corvette Summer released in 1979, similar car guys film, but with extra :cheese: :D

Re: Capri nut without a Capri

So I have a daily runabout that, in the real world of British roads, can scare an M3, plus a topless Capri replacement for the weekends. The main thing is, they've given me that car buzz again Sounds like you've got the best of both worlds. Glad you've got the car buzz back mate. All the best for t...

Re: Christmas Presents.

My eldest bought me the DVD Corvette Summer, hadn't seen this since I was a kid & really wanted to watch it again. It's a proper car nuts film in all its cheesy '70s glory, loved it. Here's Mark Hamill chasing the bad guys in Las Vegas narrowly missing a nice mk2 which must have been quite new a...
