Re: Ford capri 1977 3.0s resto

Glad you had a pretty uneventful drive. Shows how good your restoration & preparation was prior to this trip. Car looks amazing, next to modern cars they look tiny, like they're on a different scale :D. Enjoy your (and the Capri's) new home. :goodluck:

Re: Queen Square February 2018.

some nice 80's Fords fair play to the RS1800 owner. According to the Hagerty valuation tool, that's now worth a cool £72,000! A great turnout Andrew, as always it's a great mix of everything. My son was saying the organisers have been under a lot of pressure from the classic car fraternity moaning ...

Re: Who Remembers?

we're lucky because we can keep the bits we like, old cars, old music etc and merge them with new stuff like computers and the internet and have the best of both worlds :agree: Was a mere kid in the 70's , like a lot on here, I feel privileged to have experienced the nice things about it. Loved see...

It's a brilliant atmospheric snapshot in time. Street could do with a clean :) but what a different pace of life, Steptoe would have been beeped out of the way before the picture was taken today. More like this please

Re: 2.8i as a family car/daily driver?

Enjoy the drive they do say don’t buy the first one you see but blow that if you and the wife like it then go for it . I did exactly that & am really glad I did, love owning a Capri again. The car looks great, nice colour's & the interior looks good & unmessed with too. Looking at the u...

Re: Goblin Works Garage

Thought I was reading the 'Who remembers' thread then :D My gran had a Teas Maid, she stopped using it as it promised so much but delivered something that wasn't palatable, a bit like Goblin Works Garage The thing is, I would have kept the patina & certainly wouldn't have made a monster truck ou...

Re: Goblin Works Garage

Count me in, but can we paint it highland green with a leopard skin interior & skip the tattoos :D Waited until I'd watched the episode to comment. Having seen the car it looks really impressive in the metal. Didn't know they'd butchered such a nice car to achieve it though. A solid bodied car l...

Re: Haynes Museum Breakfast Club

I went around the museum a couple of years ago, it's really good. I've heard that it's good, but I've never been. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity in August! Glad to hear it's good Andy, I've only seen pictures of it but like Andrew, I'd like to see it too. Happy to wander around the meet then s...

I like James May in anything he does. The other two I can leave...... Not a fan of Total Wipeout then :D I was in the audience at Dunsfold with the old Top Gear presenters a few years back. One of the things that stuck in my mind was how few retakes they had to do Not like that now, they did at lea...

:agree: If we can all make it on the day that would be brilliant. Fancy seeing the museum also. Great mix of cars, prefer meets to shows personally as you're not tied to finishing times. :D
