Found this online;

"Of all the films we've covered in this crossing the line series, Gone In 60 Seconds is by far the cheapest, with a budget of just $150,000 - a miniscule sum of money for a car chase flick, even by 1970s standards.
Must have cost more than that to fit out Arkwright’s shop ;)

Re: Freeze Frame!

Now that is a car chase :D Great ending too :) 40+ minutes of tyre squealing & sirens :drive:  They wrecked some cars making that film Rob! Must have cost a fortune in 1974  :agree: Must have, a lot of nice cars disappeared making that film. What tickled me was how many spectators we...

Re: Freeze Frame!

Great picture Peter. Was watching the original ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ last night when I spotted this mk1 sneaking an appearance behind the stolen mustang.

I was a bit worried when I sat down earlier as the wife had paused an old episode of Open All Hours
I never worked out why it was called that, the hypocritical fucker spent an age god bothering at the end as he blundered around shutting the place.

Re: New Car Programme on TV Soon

New series of Bangers and Cash starts Thursday February 6th on Yesterday Channel :D Thanks for the heads up, Andy! B & C is definitely one of the best car shows on the TV, I really enjoyed the last series. Above all, it's genuine with no TV fakery. Andrew. Really enjoyed the last series of this, ge...

Re: Bullit Mustang sold

Amazing price isn't it. Nothing though I suppose in the real money world. People have millions to hand these days. I never really get bullet, I like to think I'm cultured (after all I'm on here and own a Capri) but I just don't get the Hyoe over this film. I bought it, watches it with great anticip...

Just thinking Rob, wouldn't it be great to have enough money to go out today and buy one of these and still keep the Capri for special occasions :D
Now you’re talking :D

Bullit Mustang sold

Just watched the actual Bullit Mustang auction on YouTube. Saw this car at goodwood 2018, it's a piece of automotive film history & is unrestored & quite rough. Bodywork all dented and seat coverings split, just as it should be for a movie prop. What price for this Hollywood icon? $3.4 million :o . ...

Haven't heard of Scrapyard Supercar Andrew, will give it a look if its worth watching.
Don't bother, it's not!
Andrew.
Cheers Andrew, save me looking for it :) . Think I'll give GWG a miss as well, think the novelty has worn off already.

Re: New Car Programme on TV Soon

Every Capri you found, the sunroof winder had already gone so I put 2 &2 tgether, figured there must be a problem with them, and bought myself a spare from `Gordons of Bolton` the Ford dealer on the other side of the road. (One of the few dealers that`s still there today.) £8 I think. Should`ve bou...

Re: New Car Programme on TV Soon

If you're interested, Scrapyard Supercar is also filmed in Manchester, at a real scrapyard somewhere. I know they used to use a scrapyard on the edge of Bolton for a sort of `reality` show, just following the day to day running, can`t remember what it was called now? I used to go there a lot in the...

Re: Future Classics

Yeah my dads got an old Baxi boiler thats 45 years old.. Me too, every year BG do the safety check, which it passes, and I`m told how inefficient it is etc, etc. It would`ve been replaced about 3 times over if we`d listened - and probably with something less reliable. I`ve got a VHS of `the Fat Sla...

Re: New Car Programme on TV Soon

I thought I'd watch a whole episode as there was nothing else on, but I won't bother watching GWG again. I did think that the Viva was quite restrained in comparison to what they did to the Capri though. How much did they buy the Viva for was it £3K? They sold it for £12K (yeah, right!), meaning th...
