Re: Not a fan of the 'Rat' look, but...

I noticed there's a feature on this car in Practical Performance Car mag, to upset the purists even more, it's got BMW running gear!

Re: Are braided brake hoses even legal? MOT TESTERS?

I was reading on another car forum a while back bout the legallity of braided hoses, someone on there was having MOT issues due the fact he'd made his own end fittings which bolt together as opposed to the Goodridge items which are crimped in a press. There are quite a few mags doing features on mak...

Another ebay gem

Noticed this on ebay, making it shiny seems to add £90 to the average price, think I'd better get the metal polish out!

Sorry to hear about the stolen Capri, I live not far away from Olbury in the Walsall area, will definitely be keeping a look out.

I really hope it's recovered, good luck.

Re: 1987 RGA competition.

Fuckin awesome days when every bloke who wasn't into football (and many that were) was into modified cars (and there was at least two on every street). :agree: I remember those days Terra, everyone used to mess with cars where I grew up, some were good, some were bloody awful, but at least kids had...

Re: Power tool batteries

What batteries have you currently got? Are they Ni-cad or Li-ion? They're Ni-cad, to be honest the batteries have never impressed me from day one, the tools are ok for my needs, I was drawn in years ago by Screwfix doing a great deal on the Ryobi stuff, looks like I'm paying the price now ! I still...

Re: Power tool batteries

Hi I've got the Ryobi +one set up where one battery fits a whole range of power tools, shame I haven't got one battery that's any good! The problem is I've got a hammer drill, impact driver, circular saw and an inspection lamp that all use the same battery! I did look at the link for the replacement...

Power tool batteries

Hi Just wondering if anyone has successfully managed to re-cell a cordless drill battery? my batteries are all losing charge and they're not cheap to replace and I need 3! I did get a quote from a local company and they want £40 + VAT each to re-cell them, by the time I've paid out for that I may as...

Re: I hate selling cars

Thought I'd do an update on my car selling post, the Mondeo has now gone, went the old school route in the end, parked it on a local pub car park with a sign in the window, went within a few hours, just glad I don't sell cars very often!

Thanks for all the positive comments

Phil.

Re: I hate selling cars

You no what I hate? When I just bought a Mondeo for 650 and you got one for 500 lol Bugger! Mines only done 60,500 miles and is MOT'd till 22nd May 2015. On the wheels subject, there are a few lads round by me with the 16" Mondeo wheels on Ka's and early Fiestas, as for how they'd look on a Ca...

I hate selling cars

Decided to try and sell my 99 Mk2 Mondeo 2.0 Zetec, why does selling a car attract timewasters and idiots? I've had it 10 years now but it just doesn't get used anymore so it's time to let it go. So far I've had one bloke who thinks he's looking at a brand new car for £500 and another who only wants...

Re: Modern car security LOL!

I suppose this will mean an increase in insurance premiums! Before someone (probably a 10 year old) found a way to hack their way past the security measures, thieves had to resort to breaking into peoples homes for the keys or dragging the driver out of the car, the problem doesn't go away it just m...

Modern car security LOL!

I have noticed quite a few owners of new cars fitting disklocks to their steering wheels, I got chatting to a chap and he was telling me thieves can now hack into the electronics of a vehicle to open the doors and then plug a unit into the diagnostics to overide the immobiliser and start the engine,...

The 'beast' he created for Martin Kemp was used at a charity event at Santa Pod where you could pay to smash it up with a sledgehammer before it was flattened by a monster truck

Re: Who thinks eBay charges are a rip off?

I think my eBay days are coming to an end, I have now sold everything that's worth any money and I did used to stick 100 items on a month starting at 99p (ebay recommend this) with the old free listings allowance, to do that now would cost me £28, by the law of averages out of 100 items I may sell 1...

Re: 1987 RGA competition.

I went to a car show at Doncaster a few years back which used to be a great custom car event, unfortunately it had now evolved into a Max Power chav fest, they did however have a big tent with naked girlies sliding up and down poles :D but you had to pay for the pleasure to watch, the other half tol...
